Fortner typically follows the opposing teams best receiver and he lives for the moment. Facing a number of elite receivers already this fall he will take on any challengers and most likely win.

Fortner may be one of the top cornerbacks in the region that nobody is talking about yet. He is 6’0 with good length and speed and you will not see him back down from anyone. He went toe to toe last year against some of the best receivers in the state and held his own. I remember watching his all-conference worthy performance against Gar-Field thinking that this kid was ready for spotlight.

Do not be surprised if Fortner isn’t involved offensively for the Sharks as Junior too, he has the wheels and hands to do so. Catching a school record 88 yard touchdown in their dominating win over Hylton, I would say he is more than ready for a few targets each game.

Where he is going to make his mark at the next level I still believe is defensive back, but talking with Coach Scott and his staff they feel strongly about his game on both sides of the ball.
