Expert Analysis
Edward Rankin | Prep Redzone Scout
Hunt recorded solid times in the 40-yard dash (4.9) and a 4.62 shuttle. The Centennial QB also was a top performer on the field. The coaches and camp organizers took noticed. The QB recorded the farthest throw out of all the Quarterbacks. He looked noticeable larger, as his 6’2″ frame is filling out. Watching Hunt throw the ball is reminiscent of the Raiders legend Daryl Lamonica. Lamonica was known as the Mad Bomber! Hunt is the Mad Bomber of Vegas! The 10th ranked QB in Nevada left no doubt that he means business in 2025!

Hunt has helped guide Centennial to a second consecutive state championship appearance in his first season as starter. He’s a developing passer that’s flashed some promising natural traits as a junior. Holds a good frame at 6’2″/180, operates off a wide base and light feet, and looks calm and composed in the pocket. He’s shown some mobility with his legs and makes tough throws with defenders bearing down on him. Hunt’s a player to keep an eye on for continued growth and development with the physical tools he possesses. Centennial faces Northern champ Galena in the 5A D-III final on Monday 11/25 at Bishop Gorman HS.

immediately jumped off the film to me as a good-sized freshman quarterback. With a talented senior on Centennial’s roster we may only see glimpses of Ashton this fall. However, keep an eye on Ashton to make a big jump in his sophomore year regardless of how much time he spends on the JV squad. Ashton’s poise under pressure and arm strength on the run highlight his Friday night ready abilities. Good size and strength show breaking freshmen arm tackles on the run. Ashton’s anticipation shows placing well-timed seam shots in between defenders. Flashes of next level mobility and good use of his eyes outside of the pocket allow Ashton to extend plays with his arm while on the run. Expect coaches to keep an eye on the talented sophomore throughout the rest of 2023.
