Muskogee has some absolute stars on this year’s team. Multiple D1 commits, a junior quarterback who will be a D1 commit in the future, but senior

is a player that is criminally underrated across the state. Watson is just a very good football player on both sides of the ball. On offense, Watson has the ability to be a security blanket for the passing game as a tight end. On defense, Watson is a very disruptive defensive lineman. In the semifinal win over Deer Creek, it was Watson who came up with the goal line stand as the Antlers went for the win with 15 seconds left.

We really try to avoid the word “underrated” when we write about players and prospects because it gets thrown around too often and loses meaning. But Muskogee senior standout

truly is one of the more underrated players in the state when you consider the impact he has on the game. First off, on offense, he’s the safety net for the passing game at the tight end position. Then on defense, it doesn’t matter where he lines up, whether it’s at defensive end or linebacker, Watson finds a way to have an impact on the game. We’ve liked his game for well over a year and he doesn’t get enough credit around the state for being one of the better two-way players in Class 6A-2 and in the state’s 2024 class. Having a player like Watson could help the Roughers to a title.

is one of the more underrated prospects in the state’s 2024 class. He’s the perfect example of a prospect that might be categorized as a “tweener” when it comes to his size but just throw on the film and watch the production. On offense, he’s the security blanket of the Muskogee passing attack at the tight end position. On defense, Watson is a relentless pass rusher that creates so many problems for opposing offenses. We’ve watched Watson quite a bit over the last 18 months while playing 7v7 and then with the Roughers and he seems to always produce at a very high level. We think that he will once again be one of the top two-way players in the state this fall and the sky’s the limit for the impact he can have.

was an absolute menace. He was one of the best two-way players that we saw early on during his junior years. He had a major impact on both sides of the ball and we want to see him continue to perform at that high level as Muskogee begins their pursuit of a state championship this fall. On offense, Watson was a red zone match-up nightmare for defenses because of his size but also athleticism and quickness. He routinely found his way into the end zone on the offensive side of the ball. Then on defense, Watson was a force along the line of scrimmage. And while we like what he does on offense, we’re leaning to defense with Watson and he might end up stepping back and becoming more of a linebacker when it comes to playing at the next level.

. This is a prospect that is rocketing up the boards in terms of our 2024 prospect ranks. Watson is a tight end and full back hybrid player on the offensive side of the ball and has been dynamic near the goal line. But it’s what Watson does as a defensive end that makes him one of the more intriguing prospects in the state’s 2024 class. Watson is a sack machine and always finds a way into the backfield. And Watson is going to be so important to Muskogee’s success on Friday. He needs to put pressure on the Choctaw passing game and not many have been able to this year.

We’ve written quite a bit about the young talent that Muskogee has on both sides of the ball and one of their best players is junior tight end and defensive end

. The junior has established himself this season as one of the best two-way players in the state. He’s a security blanket for the Muskogee passing game as a tight end and then he turns around and is one of the best defensive ends in 6A-2 this season. The numbers that Watson has put up are outstanding on both sides of the ball and it’s tough to pick one side where he’s more valuable. Watson and the Roughers are not only one of the top contenders this season, they’ll be the favorite next year.

listed as an athlete but we’re honestly starting to lean more to the defensive side of the ball when it comes to him as a prospect. Watson plays tight end and defensive end for the Roughers and he’s outstanding at both. He has an impact at both. But what he’s doing on the defensive side of the ball has us raising our eyebrows and looking at Watson as a potential game-wrecker at the next level. Watson is racking up the sack numbers this season, while also being a red zone threat on the offensive side of the ball. Muskogee is one of the best stories in 6A-2 football this season and Watson is a big reason why. And the scary thing for the rest of the class is Muskogee’s 2024 and 2025 class is leading the way for the turnaround. Not only are they a contender this year, but they will be for the next few seasons.

was flat out impressive and caught my eye right away. He came up with one big play after another to light up Booker T Washington. No matter if he was using a quick burst off of the line to catch a ball for 40 yards or to run the ball for 30 yards, it showed that nobody can keep up with him. He is elusive, but also has power to him. There was one play that he broke off of the line and past the defense, which resulted in him drawing pass interference in the end zone. What was even more impressive to me is the fact that he was dominating on the defensive side of the ball as well. He chased down the running back, broke through the offensive line to hammer the quarterback, and just left his mark on the game. This showed with a reflection in the score, to where they won 30-6. This is against a team that outscored their opponents 127-0 over the previous two weeks. It is not coincidental that they are undefeated and have outscored opponents 363-102 over the first eight games.
