Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A thick, naturally strong interior lineman at 6-foot-2 250-pounds, Castoreno is a max-effort defender in the trenches who plays with good leverage, shows above-average lower body strength, and the ability to not only eat up space against the run, but shed blocks and make a tackle at the line of scrimmage. Playing against quality competition on a weekly basis, the young North Cobb defender held his own throughout the season and made a big impact on the North Cobb defensive line as a sophomore. He’ll be added to the next 2028 Prep Redzone rankings and has the potential to have a true breakout season as a junior in 2026. His recruitment is already starting to pick up, and this week he earned new offers from Temple and East Carolina.

Loved him during the practices from the jump. Came complete with some good size and quickness on the interior. Did a really nice job hand fighting in the trenches keeping a strong foothold on his gap. If he continues to grow and improve his strength, he could be a really good defensive tackle moving forward and into high school.
