Offensive Line/Edge
About Andrew
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I play with aggression on both sides of the ball. On the offensive line, I focus on staying low, keeping my feet moving, and using my leverage to create running lanes and protect the pocket. I'm always communicating with my teammates about stunts and blitzes. On defense, I use my quickness off the snap to get penetration and disrupt plays in the backfield.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I work hard and always want to get better at both positions I play every single day. I listen to my coaches and learn from older players who help me grow as a player and person. I'm competitive but team-focused because football is about working together to achieve our goals as a team. I'm reliable and lead through my actions on the field and in practice every day we meet.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I played competitive soccer as a goalkeeper for 10 years before focusing on football this year. That experience taught me leadership, communication, and how to stay calm under pressure - skills that really help me on the football field. I'm also involved in our church's youth leadership on a weekly basis.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I've developed mental toughness from switching between soccer and football and learning new positions quickly at the high school level as a freshman. My experience has taught me perseverance and how to bounce back from setbacks both on and off the field. I try to lead by example and help new players adjust to the team.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Being adopted taught me resilience and that family is about love and support, not just blood or genetics or where you originally came from in life. It made me appreciate the people who believe in me and work harder to make them proud every single day of my life. This experience helps me stay focused and motivated on the field and never give up when things get tough during games or practice.
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm looking for a college with a strong football program that also values academics and student development both on and off the field every day. I want somewhere I can compete at a high level while getting a good education that will help me after football is over. The coaching staff and team culture are really important to me, and I want to feel like I belong there and can contribute.
