About Malakai
Expert Analysis
Andy Pham | Prep Redzone Scout
Leilua will be a key part of the offensive line. He has a good frame and size. He is quick on his feet and has a good first step. He moves well laterally and has quick hands. He is good at run blocking, is light on his feet and will pull with ease, and can get to the second level, and in pass protection, does a good job of keeping his rusher in front of him and stymying his advancement.

Leilua has a good frame and already up to 265 lbs. He should get to around 280 with relative ease. He is a strong, physical tackle who has good technique and a strong base. Leilua has a quick first step and moves well laterally. That allows him to keep good position with edge rushers and his footwork allows him to stay in front of quicker edge rushers. As a run blocker, he is simply a mauler and shows good ability to work to the second level. He’s a 2028 class and should get looked at regionally in recruiting.

Please do me a favor and highlight the name on whatever list he might pop up on. He is legit! Utah got the jump and already offered this 6’4 245 lb big man. I’m going to continue to reference this kid as a “man” because that’s how he plays. Malakai is a terror in the trenches. It does not matter what side of the ball he lines up on, his presence will be felt immediately. On contact, his feet does not hiccup at all. If anything, he runs his feet until his opponent ends up on their back or until the whistle blows. On offense, Malakai pulls with a purpose. Drive block, pass pro just put an “X” over whoever is trying to get to the ball, because he’s dead in the water. On defense, his get off and violent hands ignites his motor to find his way to the ball with bad intentions. Please don’t sleep on the athleticism of this man child because of his size. Come commitment time which is a ways away, Mr. Leilua will have his choice like teammate
