In a 34-6 win over West Philly, Gowans rushed for 195 yards and 3 touchdowns. It was Cardinal O’Hara’s 1st District 12 title—a great accomplishment for Gowans and his teammates. Gowans ability to make defenders miss in space is his superpower. Cardinal O’Hara will next be in the PIAA Playoffs, and they will be tough to beat with Gowans playing like he is.

He is a dynamic athlete who can play running back or wide receiver at the next level. It was exciting to see him pick up an offer from West Virginia State University this week. Gowans will end up at some college, and the College will be excited to have him. He is that excellent of a College Football prospect.

Running back MVP. Verified height and weight, 5’6, 166 pounds.

A cut-up build. When plugging in the tape, you’d figure Gowans to be toting 180-185 pounds based on the way he can run through tackles, based on the way he can stay balanced through the C-gaps. That build continues to be developed, Gowans looked beyond his years in person. I don’t normally say this, yet Gowans is already looking college-ready from a physique perspective.

A complete dominator in all drills, this during individuals and 1v1s. Great route runner, one who made it a point to all coaches present that he can lose LBs underneath 10 yards. Gowans showed off fantastic burst and change of direction skill while doing so in realistic scenarios. Hardy might be the highest-ranked back in attendance, yet I could not deny Gowans the MP accolade after watching him tear through competition for damn near two hours. Footage backs up my claim.

We are still a bit early to the DII offer window. Many haven’t showed their hands, yet I imagine PSACs won’t let Gowans go unoffered for much longer. I always thought of Gowans as an FCS-caliber prospect, his current ranking keeps him in that threshold just barely. We’ll see if any local FCS schools pull the trigger in the coming weeks. 3.5 GPA out of Cardinal O’Hara.

Question I Want Answered: How well does he do in the one-on-one drills?

He is usually one of the best running backs at the showcase, and I expect a similar result at this showcase as well. The question I want answered is How well does he do on one-on-one drills? I don’t have a question about him competing, but I am excited to see how he does against a talented group of running backs.

He’s got that RB frame that has started to grow popularity between college and NFL scouting departments. Gowans has flexibility, he can be your RB or he can be a sneaky receiving weapon as a slot. He has nice change of direction skills and always can burn an angle on long runs. He has that quick foot in the ground and burst that you look for in RBs. While being injured for a few games in his junior campaign he still was able to tally 10 touchdowns against some of the states best competition. It will not be long before Gowans gets his first offer and I will be very excited when he does.

On one play in particular I saw him get a toss sweep, run to the one side of the ball and the play was stopped. He turns and sprints to the other side. Out runs the defense and scores a touchdown. That is the type of player Gowans is. He has the speed and elusiveness to run by defenders. When he gets into the open field he shows off legit track speed. Gowans is also a physical running back who is hard to bring down. Gowans has all the tools of an elite running back.
