was a matchup nightmare all night, finishing with eight catches for 74 yards while showing off the versatility that makes him such a unique weapon. At 6’3” and around 215 pounds, he’s got the size to line up as a traditional tight end but the athleticism to slide out wide or even into the backfield, which Cactus Shadows used a few times to get him into some favorable matchups. He worked the seams and play‑action stick routes with ease, using his big frame to box out smaller defenders, and when plays broke down he freelanced into space, always giving his quarterback a reliable outlet. What stood out most was how often he was the go‑to option in high‑leverage downs and red‑zone situations, towering over DBs and coming up with chain‑moving grabs. His feel for finding soft spots in coverage and making himself available made him the steadying presence Dixon leaned on when the game got tight.

is ready to compile a historic season for this Cactus Shadows offense. Already gathering an impressive output in his junior season, which includes 54 catches for 716 receiving yards and 8 receiving TDs. Dafnis can dice up a defense as he is a mismatch for almost anybody on the field. He can line up in line, out of the slot, or even out wide. He moves with remarkable agility and fluidity, combining sharp cuts with a stable center of gravity. He has a sizeable catch radius and strong hands that allow him to reel balls in. Where Dafnis does his damage is in his yards after catch, as he is special at just finding any room to maneuver and take it to the house. Dafnis put up monster numbers last year. With many returning pieces and the same signal caller, expect the same or even better for his final high school season.

At 6’3″ and 210 pounds, Dafnis definitely looks the part — big, strong, and built like a true tight end. But what caught my attention was how well he moved for that size. He glided across the field in a way that made it clear he’s more than just a big target. The way he tracked the ball in the air was next-level. A couple of the grabs he made weren’t just catches — they were calculated plays where he used his frame to keep defenders on his back and shield the ball like a basketball player boxing out under the hoop. His ability to track the ball, adjust mid-route, throttle down or speed up to time the catch perfectly, and still have the awareness to position himself between the ball and the defender was something you don’t see from a lot of high school guys his size. You could tell he understands spacing and leverage, which is such a big piece of playing tight end at the next level. And when he’s matched up with a true linebacker, he’s got the speed to just outrun them. It was a really solid showing from a player who’s only going to get harder to cover as he keeps refining the rest of his game.

Another Cactus Shadows kid making the list here, as Dafnis put together some very impressive film from a season ago. Versatile player with the ability to line up at TE, in the slot, wing, or isolated at X/Z and really be a mismatch from anywhere. Too fast and athletic vs LB’s and too physical vs CB’s. He shows a large catch radius with good body control and will make those across the middle intermediate grabs and secures the catch well. Violent hands to flash a shock release or swipe DB’s hands away, and holds the speed for big play ability once he hits it into second gear. A very impressive all around player that needs to be on your boards ASAP.

Dafnis is the kind of receiver every quarterback wants in their corner — reliable, tough, and always in the right spot. He’s not a burner, but don’t let that fool you — he’s got more than enough speed to get open and make plays once the ball’s in his hands. Where he really shines, though, is working through traffic and finding soft spots in the defense. He’s got a natural feel for spacing and timing, and it’s clear he’s got good chemistry with his quarterback. Dafnis isn’t afraid to take a shot over the middle and still come down with the catch — he’s got strong hands, a strong base, and a willingness to battle for positioning. He’s also one of those high-motor guys who doesn’t take plays off. Whether he’s running a route or being asked to throw a block against a much bigger defender, he gives the same kind of effort. That kind of mindset is huge, especially at the next level. There’s a lot to like about what he brings to the table, and it’s the kind of game that holds up well beyond high school.
