Expert Analysis
Jordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Dahlene has continued to show great year over year improvement throughout his HS career while developing his frame now at 6’2” 215 lbs. He’s able to quickly diagnose plays to read and react as they progress. As a run stopper, he plays downhill flying up to fill gaps with his shoulders square and good leverage/pad level at the contact point. Also knows how to drop into coverage and read the QB’s eyes, he’s able to step into throwing lanes and make a play on the ball. He runs well in pursuit to chase and has the lateral agility to redirect in the short area closing space quickly. He’s an aggressive tackler that is tough/physical bringing strong contact and finishing ability to every play. Beats blockers with both his combination of strength and speed. Racked up over 100 tackles as a junior that kicked off his rising recruitment this spring. Holds four FCS offers to date.

play, the more impressed I am with his ability to read the game. He flows so nicely with the offense that he often ends up standing right where they’re trying to attack. He uses great speed to keep running backs from getting around the edge. Dahlene also uses that speed in coverage where he shows just how athletic he truly is. It’s not just speed, but quickness and agility too. He does a great job of baiting opposing quarterbacks into throws they think they can make, but he’s just too athletic to sneak it by. Whether it’s his impressive vertical or the lateral quickness, sometimes it seems like he’s covering two people at once. With his physical style of play, Dahlene doesn’t need to focus on being the biggest linebacker out there. There is no hesitation when it comes to putting his body on the line to make the play. That’s the kind of toughness that coaches love to see. He recently received a Division 1 offer to the University of Idaho, and that’s likely the first of many for the true all-around linebacker as he prepares for his senior season.

, the linebacker out of Williams Field, has an uncanny knack for reading the game. He’s spot-on when it comes to anticipating the quarterback’s moves, shutting down potential scrambles before they break out. When facing the run, his quick reactions are impressive; he tracks the offense’s motion seamlessly and zeroes in on the ball-carrier. When the play heads outside, Adrian’s got the speed to chase down runners. His instincts are top-notch, always following a “see ball-get ball” mentality. He’s adept at using his hands to fend off blockers, and while there are moments he’s slightly delayed in zone coverage, he compensates with his speed to recover quickly. Even with his build, he’s solid in man coverage. But don’t mistake his agility for a lack of power; Adrian is both strong and determined, capable of bulldozing even sizable offensive linemen when the situation demands.
