Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
The Acalanes standout is one of the top defenders across the Bay Area along the defensive line and had a breakout Junior season campaign for one of the better programs in the North Coast Section. He has a strong build, is stout against the run and creates immediate knock back inside while able to quickly shed blockers and plays with violent hands and proper leverage at the POA. He shows quick play and block recognition while able to change direction and collapse of pocket quickly/eat double teams and drive blocks without giving up ground. He is a good athlete for his size and should draw plenty of college interest through his senior year.

The Acalanes rising Junior is a very athletic two-way lineman that should help the Dons on both sides of the ball in 2024, and checks into our WL rankings as a name to keep a close eye on over the next two seasons. He is a physical blocker that can get to the second level, pull when needed and finishes blocks with nasty intentions downfield, while able to create immediate vertical push and maul smaller interior defensive lineman. In pass protection, he has patient hands and feet, does not overcommit to counter moves and can anchor-down against bull rushers as well. Look for Caicedo to be a name to watch for on post-season accolades next Winter and show some good progression over the next two seasons.
