Rivera is without a doubt one of the top two-way players across the Bay Area and is a very consistent presence on this rising Acalanes team heading into the 2026 season. Rivera shows he is explosive downfield and can get over the top of safeties while making contested catches in traffic with high-point abilities and strong hands. He is a precise and smart route runner that is technical and can get into defenders blind spots. After the catch, he has a strong initial burst and open field speed with some wiggle to make tacklers miss and force poor angles in space. Defensively, he triggers quickly and is a good open field tackler with great natural instincts and cover abilities downfield from his safety position and could very well find his home on that side of the ball in college.
Rivera carried the explosive Acalanes passing game with 57 receptions for 1,034 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior. 6’0” 180 lbs. he’s got a versatile skillset with high level ball skills to be an impact player on both sides of the ball at WR and DB. Extremely effective working out of the slot, he’s an advanced route runner that creates consistent separation on a wide route tree. Natural judgement and adjustment ability to ball flight, he’s a smooth tracker and competes for the ball in the air. Shows he can flash late hands and come down with contested receptions in traffic. Expect him to be near the top of WR’s in the section again as a senior.
Rivera has been a key playmaker in the high-powered Acalanes offense, totaling 43 receptions for 784 yards and 11 touchdowns. At 6’0”, 180 pounds, he flashes quick, sure hands and is confident/reliable at the catch point. Shows the ability to track and adjust to the ball in midair, and after the catch, he’s dangerous with smooth acceleration and the vision to turn short gains into big plays, making him a complete offensive threat. Acalanes is undefeated going into the back portion of the season and is one of the top ranked teams in the NCS.
Rivera is a very smooth and twitched up two-way guy for one of the better programs in the NCS, and can make plays on both sides of the ball. From his receiver position, he runs precise routes, is a smooth operator that can break quickly, pluck the ball out of the air and shows late hands while also having a big catch radius and can win on 50/50 balls downfield. Off the ball, he shows a good initial burst, can get off press coverage and is a high IQ route runner that is a complete player for his age and one of the better weapons across the Bay Area. He should breakout in 2025 and is a key name to know as we move though the season.
