Committed to Mercer, the Bears might have to do some recruiting to keep Heatherly in the fold because I think he is a definite D1 guy that might have some bigger options to sift through before signing in December. You can see the D1 abilities when looking over his mid-season film. Heatherly is an athletic guy that runs well, showing the ability to separate with an extra burst after the catch. He can be used as an intermediate pass catcher or stretch the field while also playing on the line as well. The Tornadoes senior is one of the better blockers coming out of the TN2027 class with plenty of room to get bigger and stronger. This guy is a tenacious competitor as well while being a 1st class teammate that will do anything asked of him. Heatherly does need time to fill out his frame much further but that will happen once on campus on the college level. There is a lot to like about this guy and who he can become over the next few years. I’m interested to see if bigger schools come calling but if they don’t, Mercer is getting a steal and a future starter.

may be the most underrated senior tight end in Tennessee. He has multiple DI offers and is committed to Mercer, but the long tight end should be able to thrive in this Alcoa offensive scheme. Heatherly had a solid game last night, catching multiple passes in a victory against Maryville.
He offers good size for his position, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 230 pounds with an 80-inch wingspan, a stout frame and big hands. Heatherly is a solid blocker, but he’s the opposite of his teammate. I love the senior’s receiving ability and see him as a potential high-level contributor at the Group of Five level.
