Martez is another edge defender who while he lacks the elite length for the position the senior has the athletic tools to have a role at the next level. Martez is 6’1″ 220 lbs, has a solid get off at the snap. We see that he is able to bend and dip under OTs. Jones has the balance and body control to be able to make 90 degree turns in his rush path to get to the QB quick. The senior also has the lateral agility to mirror ball carriers in space to wrap them up, and he has the range and motor to make the effort plays or chase down plays.

Stats: 13 Tackles, 2 SacksrnThe 6’2″ 220 lbs DL out of MAS made plays lining up out on the edge at his natural position, as well as along the interior. Martez used his quickness off the snap, and his lateral agility to make the plays throughout his highlights. That first step and a quick swim move got him his first sack. His lateral agility mid pass rush led to his second sack. Jones also showed off good closing speed. If he got a chance on the ball carrier, the senior didn’t hesitate to attack, and deliver solid hits to bring them down. It was a good, productive start for the uncommitted senior.
