Augustana Prospect Camp: Standouts, Part I

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>SIOUX FALLS-- After weeks of developing a new website for Prep Redzone, we turn our focus back to our June camp travel to our annual trip to Augustana University for their prospect camp. Approximately 100+ prospects were in attendance at Kirkeby-Over Stadium to show off their next-level talents to the Augustana staff and other area Division III schools in attendance. This will be my usual multi-part series of camp season as we start with Part I and will dive into multiple parts by the end. What stood out about Evan was how smooth and poised he was with his route running, as he showed off elite hands from start to finish of camp. Evan is a wide receiver prospect that you can tell has accelerated attention to detail across his craft and also his athleticism plays with high levels of instinct. I saw him develop in the defensive line group with his technique, balance and growing smoother attack angles into the backfield. He also impressed me most with his pad-level and his significant physicality I saw when he made contact in Indy drills and into 1v1s later. At 6'2 195 pounds, Alec showed off a ton of fluidity in the testing session especially with my eyes in front of me during the 40 yard dash as this kid showed off a great finish with plenty of athleticism that was seen. He also exceeded expectations for his size when I saw his vertical as well. I am a huge fan of this kid's character already even as a 2026 prospect as a prospect on tape that shows off plenty of versatility position wise. Cade showed off some excellent twitch in his athletic mobility with his route-running I saw at Augustana and I thought overall amongst all positions Cade had the most fluidity thru his testing numbers across the board. Cade is another extremely smooth route-runner from this first group however, is one on tape that shows off how much instinct he has on some higher traffic routes, which is why we have him as one of the top WRs in South Dakota's 2024 class. Even though I am used to Alex on the offensive line, I enjoyed watching his improved instinction with his lower body as he has gotten much smoother with his twitch with his footwork with his first steps to the ball. Alex also impressed in Indy drills, as he showed well-balanced footwork and solid vision. He impressed me with his noticeable twitch and agility and had some of the most balanced footwork I saw amongst the running back group overall. Alex showed off a massive range he could cover in the Indy drills and 1v1s I got to watch out of him in Sioux Falls. Another skillset Alex popped out to me with was his vertical as he showed off. He showed off some extremely catchy footwork that creates plenty of chaos for wide receivers with his ball-tracking ability. In testing Alex, showed off much consistency with a 4.31 twice. Dominic also showed off a very quick learning curve as he used the coaching he received nearly automatically and put it to good use in his reps I saw in 1v1s later in the day at Augustana. Dominic on tape is the definition of a smash-mouth linebacker, yet also has the versatility to show off his excellent physicality in pass coverage as a linebacker that can wreak havoc no matter what level of the field he is on. Kaden has plenty of length he showed off in his 6'2 215 pound frame. He showed off well-built vision in the reps I caught and certainly has much potential with some position flexibility as an EDGE or linebacker at the next-level. He can grow his development with more physicality with his contact level and more instinct with his shedding ability as I loved getting his testing numbers with his 4.15 pro agilit at the Augustana prospect camp.
