It sounds like he’ll move back to traditional linebacker this season for the Patriots, where he has past experience, but translates well as an EDGE player at the next level. Johnson also has DE experience and can move down to the line of scrimmage if needed. He’s a long and athletic prospect with a moldable body who D2 programs should be looking at closely.

The first trait that came to mind when watching 2026 Parkersburg South EDGE/DE Kaidyn Johnson Kaidyn Johnson 6'2" | 230 lbs | EDGE Parkersburg South | 2026 State WV ‘s film was how big of a motor he had when pursuing the ball. Johnson’s effort didn’t go unnoticed when watching his tape and is relentless to the ball. You’ll often find him running ball carriers down from behind sometimes even 10-15+ yards down the field. Johnson does a nice job of stretching outside runs to the sideline as well. His pursuit of the ball even when it’s not to his play side is admirable and will earn him some college looks paired with his other traits.

After a setback during his sophomore season due to injury, 2026 Parkersburg South EDGE Kaidyn Johnson Kaidyn Johnson 6'2" | 230 lbs | EDGE Parkersburg South | 2026 State WV is back in the Top 100 with a bounce-back junior year. Johnson has grown into an EDGE body at 6’2 215 and saw traditional DE reps this season as well. Growing into a true DL body is a possibility in the future, but Johnson appears to have the athleticism off the edge to play EDGE at the next level. He’s a physical presence on the end with the wingspan to stretch out outside runs and crash the edge. Johnson also has pass-rush ability and can continue to develop that aspect of his game.
