Parkersburg South expects 2027 ATH James Lattea James Lattea 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Parkersburg South | 2027 WV to take on a much larger role this season. While film has been limited, Lattea has remained firmly on our radar thanks to his athleticism and versatility. He projects as a starter in the slot on offense while also contributing at outside linebacker and safety, giving the Patriots a player who can impact the game in multiple ways. With expanded opportunities awaiting him as a senior, Lattea is one of the top breakout candidates to watch in the program this season.

We got to see 2027 Parkersburg South RB/ATH James Lattea James Lattea 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Parkersburg South | 2027 WV in person this summer, where he impressed us. He’s another athlete who will be utilized in their backfield but will likely make his biggest impact at safety this season.

We’ve primarily seen Lattea at linebacker to date, but expect him to be a top option in the backfield this fall with an opening at running back. He’s a versatile athlete with raw athleticism to utilize, which should allow Lattea to produce at a high level at running back. Once we get some film of him at that position, he has the potential to climb much higher in the rankings.”

The Parkersburg South Patriots will be searching for a new bell cow at the running back position this year, and they may have one in 2027 RB James Lattea James Lattea 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Parkersburg South | 2027 WV . Lattea earned a Top 3 RB Performer spot from his position coach and performed well during 1-on-1s. Lattea saw a lot of varsity action as a sophomore last season, primarily at linebacker, where he performed well, but his size and athleticism could allow him to settle in at running back for the next two seasons. Lattea is a good route runner out of the backfield, winning all three of his best vs best 1-on-1 reps at the final portion of Saturday’s camp, and looked the part athletically throughout the day.
