Tyler has always been a prospect that I’ve liked, and I’m surprised his recruitment hasn’t taken off like I thought it would. As it stands now, he holds offers from Calvin, Madonna, Sienna Heights, and Lawrence Tech.

Tyler oftentimes lines up as either a 4-tech or 5-tech. At his 5-tech spot he excels at rushing the passer from his 2-pt stance. His getoff is good, and he’s able to overpower a lot of offensive lineman and he’s quick enough to catch up to a QB trying to escape pressure. If Tyler doesn’t win his initial rush, that’s where he seems to fall into trouble.

When lining up as a 4-tech he’s able to flash his power a lot more. He lines up as a 4 in a lot of obvious running situations, and he does a good job powering his way through the line, sometimes by way of a stunt.

Tyler is more of a LB/DE hybrid, but I think that is what makes him special. He is so much quicker than the tackles, or even a lot of tight ends that try to get a hand on him that he can get into the backfield on any play. He does a great job of fighting against the grain, turning outside runs inside and letting the linebackers come and clean up. His film shows a lot of rushed passes resulting in bad throws, a lot of forced fumbles, and TFLs. He is a guy you could really make a bit of a rover and play him anywhere you need. Tyler feels like a plug and play guy that just needs a chance.

I am so excited to see this dude play this weekend. He’s strong, physical and moves extremely well. Tyler is starting to receive some college attention, but I think he needs even more. I think this Saturday is a prime night to raise his stock a ton! Keep an eye out for him to rise to the occasion and be impossible to block.
