Get 25% off your subscription by entering Knight25 in the coupon code area. Enjoy! The 2020 season is in full swing across the state of Oklahoma. And while the season gets going, recruiting is as important as ever. As of right now, Oklahoma’s 2021 class has 31 prospects currently committed. Heritage Hall linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="38520" first="AJ" last="Sirls"] committed to Air Force last week. The 2021 class appears to be deep, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Every Wednesday, we’ll spotlight five prospects that are still deciding their college futures. CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE TOP 150 PROSPECTS IN THE 2021 CLASS. [player_tooltip player_id="38534" first="Ben" last="Harris"] - Quarterback - Carl Albert When we look at Carl Albert’s [player_tooltip player_id="38534" first="Ben" last="Harris"], we can’t help but wonder two things. One, how anyone can overlook a player that has a 46-2 record as QB1 with 3 state titles and appears to be on his way to a 4th. Two, Harris has two great running backs and the offense is built around that. When you have [player_tooltip player_id="38684" first="Buddy" last="Bizzell"] and [player_tooltip player_id="38487" first="Javion" last="Hunt"], you run the ball. Nothing wrong with that. When Harris’ number is called to make a play with his arm or his legs, he always answers that call. However, we can’t help but wonder where he would be if he was in an offense that threw the ball more. Again, not knocking the results, just wondering what could have been. Despite all of that, Harris is still one of the best quarterback prospects in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="38515" first="Garret" last="Humann"] - Offensive Lineman - Westmoore When you look at some of the previous classes or even the 2022 and 2023 groups, you’ll see good depth at the offensive line position. The 2021 class is not as deep at that position as year’s past or even the next few classes already seem to be. So the big time players at that position just became more valuable. One of the top remaining available offensive linemen in this senior class is Westmoore’s [player_tooltip player_id="38515" first="Garret" last="Humann"]. He anchors an offensive line that sets up one of the higher scoring teams in 6A football. Humann has the combination of size and physicality that you want from a tackle prospect. You can tell when you watch his game that he enjoys dishing out as much contact as possible. [player_tooltip player_id="38591" first="Justin" last="Hines"] - Defensive Lineman - Coweta The one thing you always hear when it comes to recruiting and when it comes to scouting players is the fact that you can’t coach size. Either a player has it or he doesn’t. Coweta’s [player_tooltip player_id="38591" first="Justin" last="Hines"] certainly has the size to become a disruptive force along the defensive line. He also has shown the versatility to move around and do what is needed for his team to be successful. At 6’6 and weighing nearly 250 pounds, Hines can be an absolute wrecking ball on the defensive line. He’s a big reason why Coweta has jumped up in the 5A rankings this year and have all the potential in the world to make a run at the state championship. As he continues to gain speed and confidence, Hines will be a great prospect with a high ceiling. [player_tooltip player_id="38529" first="Te’Zohn" last="Taft"] - Athlete - Sapulpa We just wanted to see Sapulpa’s [player_tooltip player_id="38529" first="Te’Zohn" last="Taft"] back on the field and healthy again. Similar to a few of the other players on this list, Taft is a two-sport star for Sapulpa. On the basketball court, Taft can jump out of the gym and is one of the best athletes on the floor. On the football field, the same can be said. Taft is a complete player that makes an impact for Sapulpa in all three phases of the game. He’s had games where he’s shined bright on offense, defense and special teams. As a running back, Taft doesn’t have prototypical size but that doesn’t matter when you watch how he plays. He has great change of direction speed and despite his size, you can’t tackle him high because of his strength. [player_tooltip player_id="38581" first="William" last="McGuire"] - Athlete - East Central It happens every year and 2020 is no different. Every season, a senior emerges and becomes one of the top available recruits in the class. The 2021 class’ version of this is East Central standout [player_tooltip player_id="38581" first="William" last="McGuire"]. A two-sport star for the Cardinals, McGuire is one of the more electric athletes in the state. All you have to do is throw on his tape and watch the first minute and you can see that electric playmaking ability. McGuire is a home run threat every time he gets the ball in his hands. He’s on an East Central team that is rebuilding, so the majority of his playmaking ability comes in the return game. But there is no doubt that McGuire has a bright future as the breakout star of this senior class.
