Long Island 2024’s that are flying under the radar

He was one of the most versatile players in the catholic league this past season. At 6'4 200 pounds, Menghi was able to do a little bit of everything. On run plays, he was one of the key blockers for St Anthony's. The physical tight end was so important in helping this Friars run game excel throughout the season. When he wasn't getting it done in the trenches, he was a big vertical threat. The junior cornerback is technically sound and has great fundamentals. His patience and hip work helps him stay with receivers as he matches them step for step. He was an amazing deep threat as Morgan was able to go up and get against seemingly any defensive back on his schedule. His yards after catch was also a big part of his game. Morgan's breakaway speed helped him pull off big plays as both a receiver and punt returner. Lesiewicz had a total of 9 interceptions in just 10 games. He was incredible at reading the QB's eyes and having the speed to cover enough ground and come away with an interception. The junior playmaker also was a reliable running back. Floyd is a team that loves to pound the rock and Lesiewicz fits in perfectly making plays for this smash mouth styled offense. One of the biggest parts of his game though as a prospect, is kicking. He played mainly outside linebacker and he did a tremendous job of sniffing out short passes and consistently was making those open field tackles for the Flyers. Next year with all those seniors gone, you can expect Miller to be the leader of this defense and for his stats to increase. Valdez produced over 1,100 yards on the ground, the workhorse back was efficient. He had great vision finding the holes and hitting them hard. His acceleration was one of the best parts of his game. He would be able to fly by linebackers and constantly get to the next level of the defense. He continues to develop into one of the best quarterbacks in Suffolk County. He faced a lot of pressure last year, but he was very comfortable in the pocket. He made some very difficult throws and he was able to fit the ball into tight windows. One of Weiss' great attributes is the plays he can make on the run. His ability to find open receivers out of the pocket was big for his team.
