Grant Washington is a three down back that got stronger as his junior season went on to put together an impressive campaign. Washington is strong in each phase of his game which makes him a dangerous player with the ball in his hands and space in front of him. Has a good combination of vision and balance to hit his holes hard and weave through traffic with ease. Is a downhill back that reaches top speed and is hard to catch. Takes contact well with the footwork to keep moving. Takes appropriate angles to attack openings in the defense to work upfield. Showed off a number of clutch runs when his team leaned on him most showing maturity and experience rarely seen in juniors. A big contributor in the passing game, Washington works towards open space on routes and allows his offense to keep moving when receivers are covered downfield. Performs quick cuts in small spaces with good burst to hit the second level in a hurry. Washington’s recruiting process is heating up this offseason and rightfully so. He recently picked up an offer from Toledo and already holds an offer to Yale.

Grant Washington is a utility running back that does everything well and can turn any carry into six points with electrifying speed and balance. Has great vision to see holes before or as they open and hit the second level in a hurry. At top speed, he’s hard to stop as a downhill runner. His balance is his most impressive attribute as he angles his body towards the open field and can handle contact with poise to keep moving forward. One tackler often isn’t enough to bring him down as his leg strength makes him a player coaches need to watch out for. Has the ideal size for the college level at 6-foot and 195-pounds for both power and speed while he has already shown both. Plays a role in the passing game with soft hands and transitions well from stationary to full speed in open space. Washington has been out at major college combines as well as camps at Penn State and Kentucky. His high level of success on the football field as well as in the classroom has earned him his first Division I offer to Yale. With an expanded role in the fall, Washington is a guy that is set up for a big season ahead and more offers to come.
