Zane brought a strong motor and physical approach to the defensive line group. In individual drills, he played with good pad level and quick hands, focusing on exploding off the ball and gaining leverage early in the rep.

In one-on-one competition, he competed hard against offensive linemen and showed the ability to create disruption with both power and effort. He worked to control blockers at the point of attack and stayed active when trying to disengage and make plays in the backfield. Even when faced with size mismatches, he continued battling through the whistle.
