Malin made big plays on both sides of the ball to help Aquinas secure the gold ball for the third year in a row. Malin truly did anything Aquinas needed. He set the edge as an OLB to stop the run. He was a lead blocker for the offense’s run game. The senior also got plenty of carries, putting one of the in the endzone. David clearly understands how to use leverage to his advantage to either win while blocking, carrying the ball, or tackling.

Stats: 11 Carries, 115 Yards, 3 TDs, 4 Tackles, 1 SackrnDavid stepped up on the biggest stage of the season, so far, and delivered a huge performance. On offense they ran him on a lot of counters that showed off his patience, vision, and burst. On defense, Malin showed a well rounded game, being able to jump off the line and pressure/sack the QB. He also showed he could get out in space and cover pass catchers. Aquinas returns to Madison for the 3rd year in a row, but this time they have a lot of new faces leading the way. David is one of those athletes. Keep an eye on him.

Another member of the Aquinas football and wrestling programs is David Malin David Malin 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH Aquinas | 2024 State WI . The junior is wrestling in the D3 170 lbs bracket. He enters the final match with a record of 41-3 following a semifinals win by fall 2:50 into the match.

David contributed at RB and LB for Aquinas on their way to their second consecutive State Championship on the gridiron. Look for him to have an even bigger impact in 2023 as there will be plenty of workload for him to pick up at either position.
