Butler is a versatile WR that can attack all areas of the field with his separation ability but excels as a deep threat. He stretches the field with his speed, acceleration, and high-level ball tracking skills. Possesses great judgement and body control to make difficult contested catches in traffic. Quick off the LOS and then closes space on the defender forcing them to transition while he runs by. Quick lateral release move against press coverage to avoid contact and then get back on track. Like his extension and strong hands at the catch point. His recruiting exploded in the summer going into his junior year picking up nine D1 offers in a matter of weeks from top programs like Washington, Oregon, and Missouri. Now has 12 offers and is the #9 WR and #62 overall prospect in the PRZ state rankings.

of Olathe North has worked his way back into the Top 5 after being ranked No. 7 overall in the previous update. Butler has arguably had one of the best off-seasons out of any prospect in this class. After stringing along three dominant showcase performances during this off-season, Butler now has everyone’s attention. His stock blew up at the beginning of June, as he picked several Power 5 offers and he most recently received an offer from Washington State. Butler and Hayes truly are 1A and 1B when it comes to the top wide receiver ranking.

did come into the summer with a P5 offer, but things have really picked up for him after his performances at the Northwest Showcase at Western Oregon University and the Avery Strong Showcase on June 4th at the University of Puget Sound. The Pacific NW was good to the Wheat State rising junior, who now holds a healthy and still-growing list of offers from PAC12 heavyweights and an SEC competitor. The most exciting part is Butler is still from a nationally recognized and well-known recruit, which spells out a thrilling future for the athlete and his offer list. Especially dangerous as a WR, Butler has big play speed and eats up DB cushions like they’re morning pancakes, as well as physicality as a blocker and ball carrier, the ability to break off his routes smoothly and not waste steps, ball skills, and burst. He’s a fluid athlete with great feet and an explosive skillset going into his upperclassman campaign. Butler be one of the most popular prospects in Kansas by the time it’s all said and done and he’s already well on his way.

of Olathe North slides a few spots to No. 3 in the class. Even though his ranking changed, that doesn’t discredit the success he had in his first season starting for the Eagles. Despite not seeing many targets due to North’s rushing attack, Butler showed flashes of why he is the top-ranked wideout in this sophomore class. He finished second on the team in receiving yards, as he turned 21 receptions into 358 yards and one score. It was clear Butler was improving and gaining confidence with each game, which will surely carry over into his junior year. Look for him to be a candidate for an All-League selection this fall.
