Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Schneider is one of the more productive backs across southern California returning for the 2026 season and is a physical runner that has a diverse play style and is a natural pass catcher out of the backfield. He is light on his feet through the hole, shows good vision and cutback abilities against flow while able to make tacklers miss in one on one situations and can run through arm and ankle tackles in traffic or the open field. He is a smooth and natural runner that shows he can stay patient behind his blocks or bounce it outside if needed and gain the edge and has some deceptive third level speed in the clear and should be drawing plenty more college attention through his senior year for this loaded Puma squad.

Schneider was a returning attendee of the PRZ CA Showcase after earning top performer honors among the RB group last offseason and continued to show promising growth and development at Sunday’s event. The Chaparral playmaker broke out as the team’s leading rusher last season with over 1,300 yards and 9 TDs on 184 carries. He’s a quick, efficient runner that wastes little-to-no movement, can cut and get side to side in a hurry, and offers versatility in his receiving ability. Schneider is an underrated RB prospect that should gain some traction on the recruiting trail throughout the offseason.

Schneider rushed for 1354 yards with nine touchdowns for Chaparral this season after transferring from Norco.
He’s been a mainstay on the camp circuit for years now and has performed very well at Prep Redzone camps and the National Preps Showcase. Schneider creates separation against the linebackers during 1-on-1 periods and is smooth through all the individual drills.

Schneider was discussed for MVP and made it a close competition. He is an explosive athlete who looks bigger than when I last saw him. He showed some wiggle in the cat and mouse drill and can turn up the speed when needed. Schneider is also a front of the line guy in drills and is always itching to get more reps.

Schneider is one of the top 2027 running backs across California, and is coming off a stellar second season campaign for Norco where he rushed for 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns. He is a natural ball carrier with a quick initial burst at the first level and start/stop abilities in tight windows. He shows good vision at all three levels of the defense and has cutback abilities with sneaky third level speed. He runs with natural forward lean and can break arm/ankle tackles while flashing lateral movement and short area quickness in the hole. He’s a very complete back with the ideal build for the position and is a well put together ball carrier that is a no-brainer next level guy.

Schneider was a top performing RB with the promising development and skillset he showed on Sunday. Showed strong fundamentals and feel for the position in the indy session and showed some ability to create separation against LBs in 1v1s. Was a high-volume playmaker for Norco as a sophomore, leading the team in rushing with just under 1,200 yards and 16 TDs. Schneider is a dynamic playmaker to keep an eye on as he continues to develop in the coming seasons.

Schneider ran for 1,199 yards with 13 touchdowns and had a touchdown reception for Norco this season which earned him Prep Redzone All-Southern California team honors.
He’s a hard runner for a guy his size and he reads defenses well. Schneider isn’t a speed demon, but is a skilled player with good instincts that I’m excited to see.
