This is a class that will go down in the history books as one of the best in state history. We've updated our&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/oklahoma/rankings/2027-rankings/">2027 rankings to include the Top 200 prospects in the state</a></strong>. We have a ton of individual breakdowns dropping every day to spotlight some of those special prospects. In this breakdown, we're taking a look at five of the elite linebackers in the state's 2027 class. All five of these guys are committed and committed to P4 programs. Several of them are considered top ten overall prospects. Nobody has come close to knocking him off because he has been a force since his freshman year. Right from the jump, it was clear that Alexander was going to be one of the top prospects in this class and nothing has changed in the last two years. Alexander is one of those players where in most years, he would be the number one overall prospect but that just shows how truly special the state's 2027 class is. Alexander has been one of the state's best overall players for a few years now and he's looking to lead Washington back to the state title. From the start of his career, Hammons played multiple positions on both sides of the ball. While also being a heat-seeking missile for the Yellowjackets on the kickoff team. Whatever Choctaw needed Hammons to be in any given week, he was able to answer the call. But it seems pretty clear at this point that he's going to be a linebacker at the next level. It's hard not to love his game and the ability he had in stopping the run while maintaining that athletic ability to help defend against the pass. Just throw on the tape and look at what he has done in the last two seasons against 6A-1 competition week in and week out. McComb has been an absolute star since his sophomore season. It continued last season during his junior year. McComb is in a similar spot to Alexander where he has been so important to the overall success of this team over the last few years and has brought it on the offensive side of the ball in addition to what he does on defense. Last summer and fall, McComb started to really take off as a 2027 prospect. He moved to Oklahoma from Colorado and landed at Union. With the Redhawks, he had a terrific junior season and shortly after the year ended, he moved over to Bixby. Now, he is a piece of one of the more dominant linebacker groups in the state. Brackney is incredibly physical and a prototypical tackling machine. It's also going to be interesting to see how the Spartans use him this fall. If this spring was any indication, they plan on using him at the running back position in addition to being the man in the middle of this Bixby defense. We knew about Brown coming into last year but he emerged as one of the top prospects at this position. It was pretty easy to like Brown when you put on the film because he was playing in a Stillwater defense that is just frankly very fun to watch. They attack and are aggressive from the opening kickoff until the final second. Brown excelled in that and he comes into this season with some momentum after a strong offseason. We got a chance to watch him in person a handful of times in the last 12 months and each time, he's impressed.
