Sunday afternoon, PrepRedzoneMN made our way to Edina and the beautiful Pamela Park for a little in-person scouting and Summer Camp SZN tune-up at the awesome ProMN Athletics' Spring Developmental Academy's practice. Led by renowned Minnesota Gophers' quarterback legend Tanner Morgan, the coaching staff was a who's who of former Minnesota Gopher and Minnesota prep standouts, with the likes of Micah Dew-Treadway, Thomas Barber, Lewis Kidd, and Jonathan Mann making sure these prospects got better. Despite some light to moderate rain, it was a good day of work for these 2027s-2030s, and PRZMN has your exclusive insight into the practice's standouts and honorable mentions! Thanks for having us, ProMN Athletics!

A dazzling, must-know freshman 2029er in the Great State of Minnesota, [player_tooltip player_id='1654786' first='Malik' last='Lauer'] is looking, and playing, like a future D1 commit at the next level. An ultra-dynamic, multi-phase contributor for 5A Brainerd, Lauer has popped off impressive track and field times this spring, notably a 11.25 100M, 23.49 200M, and 19'0.5" long jump, eye-catching athletic measurements for his age. With the departure of 2028 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1683410' first='Bo' last='Schwartz'] to the Metro and 6A Shakopee's program, Lauer is stepping into the QB role for the Warriors, and due to the fact that he's the best raw athlete on the team, this is a move we can get behind. Doesn't hurt that Lauer has some juice in his arm, and the rising sophomore was stretching the field with accuracy, throwing a tight, accurate ball on the run, and velocity on the ball at a variety of different angles. Good overall body of work in Edina for the 218 product; can't wait to see him with the ball in his hands every offensive snap this fall.

Great to see 2027 wideout and verified speedster [player_tooltip player_id='1646034' first='Thomas' last='Niggeler'] make the drive from Pillager. It was certainly worth it too, as Niggeler was our WR MVP out of the loaded group at the ProMN Athletics Spring Developmental Academy practice on Sunday in Edina. With a great frame that was geared up to add a ton of weight at the next level, Niggeler had a huge catch radius, impressively-sticky hands, and some of the best footwork in attendance. The Class AA standout producer was consistently smooth during drill work, and he transitioned well to routes on air, where his light, powerful feet and COD ability showed up all over the route tree. Plus, Niggeler could drop his hips and break down well when needed, and his size and catch radius were an obvious advantage in a competitive setting. Going to be a massive senior season for this small school pass-catcher!

A traditionally bruising and beefy OL unit, Kendall certainly has the size to fit into the Big School trenches, and with noticeably large feet and a frame that was somehow lean, dare I say skinny, now at a reported 6'2, 270 pounds and growing. Nimble and technically sound, not to mention strong at the point of attack, Kendall was a top performer in all the drill work I saw at the ProMN Athletics Spring Development Academy practice. A front-of-the-line, seasoned-looking 6A OL who has been working his butt off in preparation for a potential opportunity and starting spot for the Huskies, Ketchum's change of direction ability and foot speed were the best amongst the OL group in attendance.
PRZMN went into this ProMN Athletics Spring Developmental Academy practice blind, which can be beneficial at times from a scouting perspective, and also was beneficial to Farmington's [player_tooltip player_id='2218223' first='Gus' last='Olson']. A taller QB amongst the group, I only knew his first name after Tanner Morgan shouted him out for a good throw, so looking back into Farmington's roster and seeing that Olson was a freshman was a very pleasant surprise! It sounds like Olson has done a good bit of developing this offseason, and he was showing some impressive overall command of the football on Sunday in Edina. Good deep balls during routes on air with the receivers, smooth, easy delivery from the pocket and on the move, and flashed a couple of big-armed throws that were impressive without the knowledge of Olson's age. Good overall body of work and was comfortable with a variety of different throws and angles. I'm excited to see what Farmington's QB room is looking like this fall, especially with Olson in the mix!

Despite the youth and long runway left in his prep football career and physical development/maturation, Riojas IV always owns a strong arm, especially for his age, and he was throwing a pretty ball on the move throughout the drill work PRZMN was watching. He was technically sound, put together a consistent body of work in terms of accuracy and mechanics, and flashed some good throws in a variety of different situations, including routes on air.
A big-time potential weapon out of the slot, Farmington was well represented once again by wideout & slotback Cody Carlson. A twitched up separator, Carlson was light on feet, easily able to drop his hips and breakdown as a route runner, and was lightning-quick at the top of the route and in his releases. This kid did not look fun to cover, especially out of the slot. One catch for eight yards in 2025, I could see Carlson making some noise this fall!

The best built wideout out of the group the talented group that descended on the ProMN Athletics Spring Developmental Academy practice, Farmington's Donovan Ramos was a pickup truck amongst the group on Sunday. Thick, powerful, and displaying some noticeable muscle build, Ramos was built more like a RB/LB type of body, and he was fluid, consistent, and quick during drill work, as well as sudden and twitchy when changing direction. Five tackles in 2025 according to MNFootballHub, I can't wait to see how this Farmington Tiger could break out in 2026!

A tall, long, and well-framed wideout representing a Farmington group that was very well represented in Edina at the ProMN Athletics Spring Developmental Academy practice, Landon Gangl has a lot of tools to work with. Maybe the tallest WR in attendance, Gangl could drop his hips well for a big guy and showed some noticeable change of direction ability for his height/age. If Gangl can fill in and add weight going forward, he's going to be a tough matchup at the 6A level.

A standout freshman WR from Rogers High School, [player_tooltip player_id='1716453' first='Brayden' last='Klipstein'] was hanging with the big dogs in his WR group on Sunday at the ProMN Athletics Spring Developmental Academy. Impressive and noticeably-smooth + effective footwork, was explosive out of his breaks and could accelerate and get up to top speed quickly, and had some power given the size and age. Klipstein was easily one of the best and most consistent wideouts during drill work, at least from what PRZMN saw, and he played fast and without much overall wasted movement. Good showing from this young WR!

With a naturally low pad level and heavy hands, Ehlert was a standout performer during drill work throughout the ProMN Athletics' Spring Developmental Academy practice. He's added some strength during the offseason and has been sharpening his pass-rushing tools in preparation for what could be a huge senior season up in Brainerd.
