Expert Analysis
Hayden Lindquist | Prep Redzone Scout
An underrated trench athlete who popped at the PRZ combine in the spring, Ehlert put up some solid numbers as a defensive end last season, finishing his junior year with 33 TTCK, 2 PBUs, 2 Sacks, and 3 TFLs. I got more out of his 2025 tape than I expected to. Ehlert is a surprisingly explosive athlete who possesses a quick get-off and does a great job of hand-fighting with offensive linemen, which prevents them from locking on and making meaningful gains as blockers. He’s often noticeably quicker than the OL he faces, and I really like how he’s able to maintain control of his gap, even if he is out-sized. He plays a very aware style of football, always looking to bat down passes or create big play opportunities. With game time on both sides of the ball, you can expect to see a lot of Ehlert next season.

Much twitchier and much more comfortable in pass-rushing settings than I was expecting, Brainerd’s

was a polished and competitive presence at the PRZMN Spring Showcase last Saturday. Consistent pad level and a solid get-off helped him earn his fair share of 1v1 reps throughout the end of Session 1.

Andrew was an Outstater that I didn’t have on my radar before Saturday, but he made an impression in the live eval I got last Saturday. Not only do I like the speed of his first step, but for 6’0 245 pounds I liked even more with the length of strides that Andrew carries getting downhill to the ball carrier. He has hammering hands that waste no time to get leverage and as a productive run-stopper you’ll see on tape, his pull off surely tell you there’s more game-speed to this young man that what you can evaluate from some of his testing numbers. The position fit at defensive tackle at the next-level looks like the move for college coaches at the next-level in my eyes for Andrew.

. The 3T shows some real-deal pass rushing rush from the interior, as well as a good get-off and the ability to unlock his hips and work his way through contact thanks to his effort in the weight room. Ehlert is strong at the contact point and shows the base and power to withstand pullers around the LOS, and he can shock and shed blocks with effectiveness. Good hand usage, can make tackles through contact, and has a great rep of him melting perfectly into a Spring Lake Park RB’s screen lane for a near INT on an instinctive defensive effort for a interior DL against high-level competition. Hope to see Ehlert at the upcoming PrepRedzoneMN Spring Exposure Showcase on April 18th in Plymouth!
