Always fun to get an early glimpse into the future of Wisconsin OL recruiting. The 2029 class in the Badger State is represented well by Verona Area’s Myles Manning, who measured in at 6’3, 274 pounds with a 6’6″ wingspan and a ton of room to fill in and add good weight to that large, still-growing, and potentially-hulking frame. Manning was impressively physical for his age, showed some good bend and flexibility in his hips for his size, and fired off the ball well and with solid leverage. A strong kid who did a good job of fighting for advantageous hand placement and running his feet post-contact, Manning was comfortable and effective in both run and pass blocking settings. Future is bright for this young buck! Manning solidified that OL1 ranking at the UWEC Big Man OL/DL Mega Camp last week.

There is plenty to be excited about. A strong and well filled out frame already. Strong hands that rag doll kids his age at the C/JV level. Myles’ overall strength jumps off the tape. Whether it be a stout pass set or bulldozing DEs off the line in the run game. The ’29 OL is also in a great environment where he will not only be coached up, but also get to work behind and watch some very talented upperclassmen on the Verona OL. Get Myles on your radars early on.

OL can be hard to project. Teams love having age and experience in the trenches, but there are times when you wins out because of the talent they bring. One case where that youth could win out is with Myles Manning Myles Manning 6'3" | 275 lbs | OL Verona | 2029 State WI out of Verona. Myles checks the box when it comes to looking the part. He is a 6’3″ 265 lbs OT and the kid stands out on tape. Playing against non-varsity athletes proved that Myles is well on his way towards being ready for Friday nights. His heavy hands and upper body strength would throw around DL. So many reps ended with Myles’ man on the ground, quickly after the initial engagement. The big man has some solid mobility too. I won’t be surprised to see Myles more on the interior if he does make the leap because Verona does have two very good options at their OT spots.
