Time to turn towards the future! The UWEC Big Man Camp didn't just bring out the stud, soon-to-be seniors to ball out and compete. It also gave us a glimpse into the future of the OL position across our great state. A state that is most well known for producing these massive, dominant offensive trench monsters. After careful consideration the picks have been made for 1st & 2nd Team All Camp Team among the underclassmen. These athletes spearhead the future at the position. Coaches, if you recruit WI you need to ensure you have these kids on your boards. Let's get into their performances!

Myles was one of the athletes that PRZ scouts were interested in seeing live again. The Verona OL made a great impression. It was obvious he had grown since our look at him last summer, now checking in at 6'3" 275 lbs with a 6'6 wingspan. His entire skillset had also grown too. While playing with athletes his age, or a year older, Myles stood out from the crowd. He carried that frame extremely well on a wide base moved by feet that were smooth and generated the forced to run over DL in board drills. His upper body strength has been moving in the right direction too as he was able to clamp onto his man and control where he steered them. If the '29 can continue to improve his game and push himself to higher levels in the weight room then I foresee him constantly pushing to be our 2029 Class OL1. Big things ahead for Myles.

A rising member of the Class of 2028 who showed out at the UWEC Big Man Camp is Emery's [player_tooltip player_id='2087573' first='Easton' last='D'Ambrosio']. Checking in at 6'4" 251 lbs, Easton is transforming into a legitimate OL recruit. He has the long limbs to potentially play OT at the next level with his elite 6'8" wingspan. Even at 251 lbs the soon-to-be junior is just scratching the surface on what his frame could carry at the next level. In pads Easton only continued to raise my intrigue for his future. He plays on an athletic lower body that was able to stay in front of DL and also help him recover if he was out of position in a rep. Easton also was using that rare length to his advantage in a ton of reps to control and redirect DL trying to get the edge on him with speed. The 2028 out of Amery is a raw talent, but there is a lot of clay to sculpt with over the coming years.

Safe to say Connor will be a big riser during the summer update. The 6'2" 280 lbs 2028 OL carries a 6'8" wingspan. He sure looked the part of a next level IOL during his 1v1 battles throughout the big man camp. This offseason we have seen Connor max out at 470 lbs in the Kimberly weight room that has pumped out some freaky athletes. That offseason dedication has shown early signs of translating to the field. In 1v1 reps Connor was a bully. Between that powerful lower body and heavy hands Connor was mauling DL. In board drills we saw the real aggression and violence as he could drive DL backwards. Then in pass pro that lower body dominated as he easily set an anchor that DL could not bull rush through. Connor is growing a serious frame with violent power and verifying that he can get the job done on the field. I'm very excited for him to have his breakout year this summer/fall.

I love getting out to camp events because you are always going to have someone new standout. One of those athletes was Waunakee 2028 OL Alex Manley. The can't miss part of his game is the elite frame and potential within it. Alex was just under 6'7" weighted 228.6 lbs, and has a 6'6" wingspan. Obviously he will need time to bulk up and fill that frame out at the next level, but when it comes to the overall skeleton, you can't ask for more length. Alex also really impressed me during 1v1 reps. He wins with that elite length and also with very effective athleticism. It was easy for him to mirror edge rushers and react to their moves and counters. Plus there was enough power to be able to effectively set an anchor and drop his hips to get into a leverage position. On tape you see the athleticism again standing out and a surprising amount of power to move DL at the JV level very easily. It will be interesting to see if he can earn a Friday night role this season.

Benedict was new to my radar, making the trip over from Minnesota to compete. He made it worth his time too. Benedict is a 6'4" 305 lbs 2028 with an unbelievable 6'8" wingspan. Truly one of the best frames in attendance at the event. The big man does a great job using that size and his initial burst out of his stance to generate man-moving power. When he was able to attack straight ahead in board drills he was able to almost instantly overwhelm opponents. The run game is his strength at this point in development. Those scenarios allow him to get hands on and quickly overpower his opponent and he has the right mentality needed to bury his opponent when he gets the chance.

The Class of 2029 OL group is showing early signs of being a talented one. Another member of the group who made a name for himself is Menomonie's Hunter Simmons. Simmons already is looking the part at 6'5" 260 lbs with a 6'5" wingspan. The big man had some solid flashes throughout the night vs other 29s and some 28s. His massive frame had the ability to swallow up bull rushers. Over the years we are going to see massive leaps from Hunter as he learns technique and as his athleticism is able to catch up to his overwhelming size. Coaches you need to have this kid on your radar because when things all come together for him he will be a special prospect.

One of the most massive OL at the camp came from one of the smaller schools in the state. Taetyn is a 6'5" 315 lbs 2029 with a 6'5" wingspan coming out of Boscobel. Things are just starting to come together for the massive 2029. With a frame like his it takes time for the rest of his game to catch up, but with three years of development ahead of him it is exciting to project what he could become. As his athleticism starts to match his size we will see him make his breakout. Leverage and mobility will also further increase the power he is able to generate in the trenches too. Get this kid on your radars early. He has the early building blocks to be a need to know recruit in the Class of 2029.

Another OL prospect with an intriguing frame is Wausau East '28 [player_tooltip player_id='2073926' first='Turner' last='Zink']. Turner checked in at 6'4" 251 lbs with a 6'7" wingspan. The soon-to-be junior looked more like a TE than OL at this point. He has so much room to continue to pack on the size necessary to dominate in the trenches at the next level. Turner has the build you look for too. He has an athletically built lower body with a lot of his mass in the upper half of his body. Giving him the ability to move and maneuver quickly while also having the strength to have effective initial punches and the ability to control his man when he clamps onto them. The big man can move well, especially for his size, and the power is only going to continue to improve with consistency in the weight room and his weight continuing to rise. Definitely keep an eye on the 2028 out of Wausau East.
