Expert Analysis
Corey Bailey | Prep Redzone Scout
Dunathan is a special talent amongst his competition. He is dominant on both sides of the ball, offensively he plays running back and rushed for 1961 yards, 24 touchdowns, averaging 150 yards per game. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and gives effort beyond his talent. On defense he can make plays anywhere on the field regardless of where he lines up in the beginning of the play. He’s everything you look for in a good linebacker, big, fast, powerful, and athletic. Dillon will be a gem for the program he chooses.

Dunathan is a physically dominant player, named MVP 2 years in a row, 1st team all-county, and 1st team all-metro. He is an absolute wrecking ball; he causes fits for opposing back fields. One play that stands out in his film is when he chases down a running back pass. He hawks the defender down while flying past his own teammates. Dillon holds a few offers from Colgate, Merrimack, and Rhode Island, still uncommitted as of right now. Dillon’s dominance on both sides of the ball lead Damascus to a State Championship victory.

Dunathan led Damascus to a state title this year. He was key on both offense and defense. He carried the offensive load on his shoulders. He was a workhorse back that was able to take over games by himself. He is a back that runs well between the tackles as he runs with power. He also has good speed which makes him a threat running outside of the tackle. This speed also makes him a big play threat especially when he hits the second level.

Dunathan is a diamond in the rough and will be a Gem on somebodies recruiting board. He is dominant on the field at linebacker and running back. He has the power and strength to take on and shed blocks and still makes the tackle. He’s a very athletic LB, on one particular play he really showed off his athleticism, awareness, and relentlessness. Dillon read a double pass from his outside linebacker position and chased down the play to make the tackle 50 yards later. He’s only played in 4 2nd halves out of 9 games up until this week. Dunathan was invited to the MD vs VA All-Star game at The St. James in VA on Jan.6th.

Dunathan made a big impact on the week 1 game last season. As the season went on Dunathan got a bigger role on both offense and defense. Expect Damascus to try to use Dunathan’s power in the run game as he can break tackles. On defense expect him to make plenty of run stops and force Northwest to open the offense up.
