Ferguson has the ability to play both on the interior and on the edge. As an edge defender he does a great job of setting the edge and playing contain. As an interior rusher he is very tough to handle. He is quick and powers through blockers. He is a very good pass rusher specifically when lined up in the interior. He is a rare defender in the sense that he is both a good run stopper and pass rusher.

Ferguson is multifaceted edge defender. He is a very good run stopper as he does a great job of setting the edge and playing contain. He also is a good pass rusher and he plays with a good pad level and is able to bully blockers. Last season he made some plays in the backfield against Northwest. He will look for a repeat performance.

Ferguson is a technically strong edge defender. He does a great job of using his hands to fight blockers off of him. He has good body control as he is able to dip under blocks and get skinny and split double teams. He does a good job of attacking the tackle’s outside shoulder. He is able to keep contain and be an excellent outside-run defender. He has a quick get-off which makes him a good pass rusher. Ferguson is a key player for Damascus.
