Rubel is an interesting prospect. During the Wildcats’ run to the state championship game last fall, the junior delivered 24.5 tackles, 19 of which were solo stops, and recovered a fumble. He also connected on four of five field-goal attempts and proved true on 43 of 45 extra-point tries. During his 11th-grade highlight video, Rubel shows a short, compact leg swing on his kicks. There’s not a lot of wasted movement before he powers through the ball. Rubel doesn’t include defensive highlights on his film, so he favors kicking in college.
