We're just days away from our Spring PRZ Combine, the first we've ever done in the Raleigh-Durham area. Simply put, I'm excited. As much as a I love getting back to the Charlotte area to cover showcases, it's rare to have one in RDU and the makeup of our participant list skews heavily to the RDU area. In the first of a few preview articles, I'm looking at some defenders from the Raleigh area slated to be in attendance that I'm excited to scout in person.

RDU Defenders To Know at PRZ NC Clayton Camp

The structure of the camp should allow me to scout a bunch of guys. We'll split into smaller groups to run 40s, broad jump, 5-10-5, and L-Drill athletic tests, then do some positional work and end with 1-on-1s. I'll bounce around and scout everybody in attendance, but I'm particularly intrigued by these guys.

[player_tooltip player_id='1663952' first='Davis' last='Prichard'], EDGE, Middle Creek

A newer name to my list, Prichard's athletic profile is intriguing. A guy who can play both sides of the ball and multiple positions on defense, I think I like him on film as an edge rusher. His length and explosiveness stand out on film and I'm excited to see him test on Sunday. Given his measurables and film, a strong camp performance should move him up the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='935584' first='Kenneth' last='Dula IV'], DB/WR, Jordan-Matthews

Dula is going to work out mostly as a corner, but I'll also have him run a few routes as a receiver. It's all about staying healthy for Dula, as his film, when he's on the field, is exceptional. After not allowing a catch as a sophomore, Dula missed most of his crucial junior season with a shoulder injury. A workout warrior and elite tester, he's just getting back into football shape. A move to safety this year should up his tackling numbers, but it's all about patience for a guy clearly talented enough to play at the Division-1 level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1600424' first='Jaylen' last='King'], LB, Cleveland

I'm a sucker for elite testing numbers and King is at the top of my list for guys with the potential to put up eye-popping times. An explosive athlete with long speed, I wouldn't be surprised to see King jump over 10 feet and run under 4.6 seconds. That athleticism gives him a good floor as a prospect, and I'm interested to see if his hips and footwork in drills can keep up with his unbelievable athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id='1549526' first='Evan' last='Brown'], DB, Leesville Road

Speaking of elite testers, Brown is a candidate to be the fastest player in attendance. He'll work out mainly as a defensive back and I'm interested to see his footwork and coverage abilities, because we already know about his speed and athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id='863025' first='Bobby' last='Conyers'], DT, South Garner

I've seen Conyers in the weight room and it's impressive. At his size (6'2", 310) I don't need him to put up great testing numbers, but I would like to see how he moves. I know he can hold up at the point of attack, but I haven't seen him move a lot. Seeing some of his lateral movement and pass-rushing skills will go a long way toward a more complete evaluation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1129856' first='Jackson' last='Bordelon'], LB, Fuquay-Varina

It's funny, though I've seen his film and live fairly close to his high school, I've never gotten to see Bordelon live or do a complete evaluation. He looks like he's got some movement skills, so I'll be interested in his times and his coverage abilities. I'm hoping to see him in drills and one-on-ones as I seek to do a complete evaluation on a guy who could be in line for a huge rankings jump.
