Session one of the Minnesota Prepredzone Showcase featured – among other positions – the athletes in the trenches. After focusing on the defensive side of the line of scrimmage, here are the individual athletes I caught looking great during their one-on-one reps.

[player_tooltip player_id='1256226' first='Gus' last='Knowlton'] 6'3 250 Cambridge-Isanti

Knowlton looks the part of a solid defensive lineman with a physical, athletic build. He was explosive off the ball and, with a low center of gravity, tough to contain. He has quick feet and hands, once using a nice rip move to rid himself of a blocker.

[player_tooltip player_id='1452200' first='Nehemiah' last='Ombati'] 6'3 275 Waconia

Ombati's swim move was a solid weapon for the Wildcat. He also used good quickness to accompany that swim move. Ombati has quick hands and was a solid hand fighter, which allowed him good separation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1651755' first='Jaylen' last='Purnell'] 6'2 210 Champlin Park

Explosive off the line of scrimmage, Purnell had a solid inside pass rush move. He showed his agility with a great spin move. Quick off the ball, Purnell used his quick first step to set up his pass rush – including a nice inside move to clear the blocker.

[player_tooltip player_id='1629196' first='Trevor' last='Bodell'] 6'3 230 Monticello

Bodell uses his hands well. He comes off the line of scrimmage with a low center of gravity and is explosive coming out of his stance. During the one-on-ones, Bodell used both an inside pass rush move and a quick move to the outside to get pressure on the quarterback.

[player_tooltip player_id='1629872' first='Jon' last='Wiseman'] 6'3 270 Providence Academy

Wiseman used his hands well with a great rip move that got him inside the blocker to get into the backfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602680' first='Milo' last='Dungan'] 6'2 240 Benilde-St. Margaret's

Dungan showed good hands, speed, and agility. He used a swim move to free himself. Then, his good hands helped him get the corner and complete an outside pass rush.

[player_tooltip player_id='1205924' first='Nehemiah' last='Schwinghammer'] 6'2 230 Bemidji

Schwinghammer's quickness was easy to see. It freed him on two inside moves. A great looking athlete, he comes low out of his stance and is quick off the ball. He also has a good rip move.

[player_tooltip player_id='1258054' first='Kimoni' last='Mixon'] 6'4 195 Park Center

Mixon has good quickness to get around the corner. Then, he made a pair of quick inside moves to beat his blocker.

[player_tooltip player_id='1262647' first='Ryan' last='Layeux'] 6'1 230 Eastview

Layeux showed good leverage with a rip move. Later, during an outside pass rush, he showed quick hands, which got him separation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602672' first='Kyson' last='Arndt'] 6'5 225 Minneota

Arndt was quick off the ball on an inside pass rush. Later, his speed around the corner allowed him to get back into the backfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='1620866' first='Nolan' last='Lara'] 5'8 210 Lakeville South

Lara is a smaller defensive lineman, but he created space inside with a rip move. Later, he used his quickness to get inside his blocker.

[player_tooltip player_id='1262616' first='Alexander' last='Woelfel'] 6'0 235 Stillwater

Woelfel used a solid swim move to beat his blocker.

Lemar Gatlin 5'8 225 Minneapolis Camden

Gatlin got into the backfield with quick feet and quick hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602705' first='Adrian' last='Gomez'] 6'3 230 Staples-Motley

Gomez showed quick hands and feet with a move inside to beat his man.

[player_tooltip player_id='1651467' first='Tanner' last='Thomson'] 6'4 210 Edgerton

Thomson showed quickness on a solid inside move.

[player_tooltip player_id='1648476' first='Gheritt' last='Museus'] 6'4 250 Park

Museus showed good low hips on an inside move. That leverage got him in the backfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='1288296' first='Carson' last='Pruett'] 6'1 230 Princeton

Pruett showed nice hand work with a successful rip move.

[player_tooltip player_id='1650930' first='Tyson' last='Bell'] 6'0 200 Rogers

Explosiveness and a nice swim move got Bell into the backfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581358' first='Gavin' last='Grochow'] 6'1 210 Jefferson

Grochow showed good explosiveness off the snap.

Kellen Simmons 6'2 250 Park

Simmons was quick off the ball on an inside move.
