Nielsen checks into our rankings as one of the top tight ends in this class and is a big bodied pass catcher with a huge frame, good catch radius and strong hands while able to go up and get it. Nielsen can stretch the field and get over the top while showing he is very physical at the POA and bodies smaller defenders with ease on his way to the ball. He has plenty of room for growth but has all the starting tools needed with the frame to continue adding mass through his collegiate career.
Nielsen is a high upside prospect that should have a breakout season in 2025, and has the frame and length to turn into a FCS+ tight end over the next two seasons. He has a huge catch radius and strong hands downfield while able to stretch the field vertically and make plays in space. He is a very fluid athlete for his size and a smart route runner that will only continue to grow and develop. He shows he is a willing blocker and has a massive frame with the ability to hold another 30-40 pounds without losing fluidity. Heading into his Junior season, he will be one of the biggest offensive weapons across the state and is a name to note in Idaho’s tight end room going forward.
