Brandon had a phenomenal day in Southfield. Brandon displayed quick burst coming out of breaks and excellent change of direction during cone drills and other drills defensive backs were put through. Brandon made a lot of people take notice during the one on one’s portion of the camp. He played excellent trail position defense when a wide receiver was able to get by him and played his keys very well. Brandon never gives up on a play and batted multiple balls away. Brandon raised his stock at camp and I am excited to see him continue to develop this summer.

Brandon wasn’t far off from being top 10 in every category, but was still top 15 across the board. His 10’4 broad jump was 2nd best, as well as a 4.65 40 time which was 3rd on the day. His pro shuttle was 14th best and L-Drill was 15th at just over 7 seconds. Holman looked explosive all day long and was one of our top performers!

Holman made some early plays on when receivers were going through vertical releases against the DBs, but his day took off in the 1v1’s. Brandon is a tremendous athlete. His recovery in pass coverage is great, and he is able to make plays on the ball. He’s tough at the snap and can go step for step in man coverage. After a great season, Brandon is still impressing in the offseason.

is having himself an excellent season for Zeeland West.
First and foremost, speed kills. His 11.14 100M dash is one of the fastest times in the state, and Brandon has a habit of always playing at full speed.
This is obviously utilized well offensively. Brandon is a home run waiting to happen at RB, and he’s broken a few massive runs this season.
Though I actually like Brandon more as a safety. Watching his full game against Forest Hills Central, I came away incredibly impressed with Brandon’s physicality and play speed. Brandon takes aggressive angles to the ball carrier, and it usually pays off. He has a knack for blowing by blockers and getting in on some tough, sideline-to-sideline tackles. The way Brandon is able to cover ground and play at 100% when stopping the run is elite, and I do not say that lightly.
I need to see more in the pass game, but I am intrigued. With Brandon’s speed + effort, there’s little doubt that Brandon could develop into a great pass defender. I personally like his upside as a zone-heavy free safety. I currently think that Brandon has a D2 floor.

had a big week 1.
Last season, Brandon earned a significant amount of Varsity snaps. This year, he seems to be a full-time starter on both sides of the ball. The first play on Brandon’s tape shows a very impressive pick-6. The QB let the ball sail for far too long, Brandon got in front of it, and took it to the house. A few more defensive plays on tape, but I can’t tell just how much Brandon has improved as a corner.
Lots of carries for Brandon. At 0:35, Brandon follows his blocks perfectly, shakes off a defender, and scores easily. At 1:02, Brandon takes the direct snap and follows his blocks to the sideline. I really like the uptick in carries for Brandon this season. Seeing some nice burst, and solid vision. 100% a breakout player two weeks into the season.

I regrettably didn’t get a great look at Brandon during our Prep Redzone camp, but I did get a good look at him at this MHSAA camp.
Overall, Brandon did well. On several occasions, he flashed his great athletic testing numbers with good change of direction, great top speed, and solid recovery. His fundamentals still need work- hips need to be looser, needs to change direction quicker, especially out of his backpedal, etc. Though, those testing numbers have me very excited for his upside. A handful of great reps against seniors + great athletic traits usually = college offers in a year’s time.
