The first thing that jumps out to me about Grady is weather he is lined up inside or outside he is a complete mismatch for offensive lineman. He is to strong for guards and centers and a tough guard for offensive tackles. Grady has an extremely explosive first step and good bend coming off the edge. I also love how Grady shows up to the ball carrier with bad intentions. You can see on film Grady has been very well coached and has lead to a lot of success on the field. This season should yield even bigger results as Grady continues to put in the work for the Dux.
Based off of the eye test, Grady Patrick is what I would like my Interior defensive lineman to be built like. When it comes to the intangibles I thought Grady showed his ability to bend and beat olineman with good leverage. He moves very well for a guy just under 270 pounds but I think his high motor is what allows him to make plays in the trenches.
Grady is another guy showing quite a bit of promise. Similar to Dalton, I’m most intrigued by his effort and burst. It doesn’t always show up, but when it does, it’s impressive. In his moments of amazing burst, Grady is able to cover a ton of ground in a very short amount of time. Simply rushing the gap in front of him or working on a stunt, Grady shows tremendous flashes.
I’d love to see Grady in person at some point this offseason. I have questions about other parts of his game, and I’d love to see how Grady does against offseason competition.
