Expert Analysis

Ross was on pace for a record season until quarterback injuries derailed South Garner’s passing attack. In the six games that the Titans were healthy at quarterback, Ross caught 34 passes, averaged nearly 105 yards per game, and scored seven touchdowns. Expect another huge year from a guy who excels at both getting behind defenses and making unreal highlight catches.

Ross’ raw numbers were strong in 2025, but they’re even better when you see the quarterback issues the Titans dealt with over the latter half of the season. With the starter healthy, Ross produced over 100 yards, five catches, and a touchdown per game, routinely winning 50-50 balls down the field. He’s gained a ton of muscle and is an explosive athlete. As he’s grown as a route-runner, we’ve steadily moved him up the rankings.

I’m staking my claim on Ross, who is a true Power Four prospect, even though his interests have come largely from the FCS and Group of Five ranks so far. You’d be hard-pressed to find a player with more body control and better ball skills than Ross, who is one of the best in the state at going up and getting the ball. He should have plenty of opportunities down the field this season.

Ross has had an outstanding early offseason, getting bigger in the weight room and continuing to get faster. He’s a matchup nightmare with his quickness and leaping ability and as he continues to hone his route-running and hands, the rising junior should see his recruitment take off.

Randolph is another one of those ‘freak athletes’ coming out of South Garner. The program has a track record of producing Power 4 football talent simply by converting some of its top basketball players—and it looks like they’ve found their next star in Ross. The sophomore possesses exceptional leaping ability and is as quick as a point guard. Once he fine-tunes his skills, he’ll be a serious problem on the outside

Taking a look at Randolph’s highlights was fun – the first clip shows him making an incredible one-handed catch in the corner of the end zone that shows his strong hands obviously and concentration/focus. Randolph runs some good routes and isn’t afraid to go over the middle of the field to make tough catches in traffic. Randolph isn’t what I would call a super fast player, but he knows how to create separation and does that well from both the slot and outside receiver positions. Randolph picked up his first two offers from Troy and East Carolina earlier this month. With a 3.6 GPA, he should see many more opportunities come his way.
