About Luke

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is fast and aggressive with quick reads and downhill play. I take pride in lifting my teammates through my style of play. There are many instances where I have played through nagging injuries to establish myself as a leader on the team and set a tough, positive example.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality as a football player is to leave everything on the field by playing as hard as possible every snap. I continuously strive to better myself on and off the field through physical and mental preparation.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have played three sports in high school, including varsity football, varsity basketball, & junior varsity baseball. I also am part of DECA, the business marketing club in Centerville. This year, I earned the National Honors Society recognition for academic excellence.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership skills through weekly group leadership meetings with my defensive coordinator. In these sessions, we are challenged to face internal fears and adversity as to overcome them and become better men off the field and ultimately, better teammates and leaders on the field. In the community, I coach in the local pee wee football program to influence younger players.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The biggest challenge I have faced was earning a starting spot over a senior ahead of me. I worked every day and competed with him which ultimately led me to the starting middle linebacker position. Halfway through the year, I was needed to shift to the outside to help the team. I did this without hesitation, learned a new spot, and excelled, earning 2nd Team All-Conference as a junior.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has a good football tradition while also putting my education as a priority. I'm hoping to learn more about the game from experienced coaches while growing as a person physically & mentally.
