District 3 Playoff Preview: 6A Top Playmakers

Running behind a veteran group of offensive linemen, Clancy has made the most of his carries. He has this ability to always find a hole or a crease and always seems to gain positive yards. Gruber continues to play as both a quarterback and a defensive back. At quarterback, he does a good job as both a runner and a thrower. As a runner, he is a tough and physical runner. He is constantly leading Wilson in rushing attempts. He also has played well as a passer this season for Wilson. On defense, he has elite coverage skills and does a good job of getting his hands on balls thrown in his direction. Gruber is a good prospect, and if he continues to play well, Wilson can make a District Title run.     [player_tooltip player_id='618707' first='Brody' last='Pines'] is a difference-maker on both sides of the ball for Cumberland Valley. On offense he is used as a running back and as a wide receiver. At both positions, he shows good speed and has the ability to make defenders miss in space. He has good hands as well and makes good catches, especially in traffic. On defense is good in coverage and making tackles in the open field. The Penn State commit is a dynamic running back who can score anytime he touches the ball. He is also a physical running back who is hard to tackle. Mickens has a physical style as a runner, that will enable him to do well at the next level. He recently decommitted from Arizona State and then committed to James Madison. Scott can score anytime he touches the ball. Scott also runs good routes. He shows a good ability after the catch as well. He can have short passes thrown his way and then he is able to make it into bigger plays. He also plays as a defensive back and does an excellent job in coverage and making plays on balls thrown his way. Scott is a good prospect and JMU is getting a talented player.     [player_tooltip player_id='1513177' first='Isaiah' last='Zimmerman'] has come out of nowhere to have a strong Sophomore season for Cedar Crest. He is an elite running back. He does a good job of hitting the hole and making people miss in space. Then, when he gets into the open field, he has the speed to run past defenders for a big play. He has a great feel for the game. He does a good job of getting through his reads and making the right throws. He also has good mechanics and delivers a good football. Nace mechanics, in particular, are excellent. He is also a good athlete who moves well, and when the play breaks down, he does a good job making a play for his team. Nace is a good player, and if Central York is going to make a District Title run, Nace will need to play well.     [player_tooltip player_id='1131218' first='Demaj' last='Jalloh'] is a dynamic athlete who plays as a quarterback for Central Dauphin East. I saw him live in week one against York High and I was blown away by the way he played as a quarterback. He is such a great athlete, and when the play breaks down, he does a good job making a play for his team. In a scramble drill, he does an excellent job of scrambling around to make plays with his feet to find open wide receivers. He is also good on designed quarterback run plays. Jalloh is also developing as a thrower of the football. He is a talented athlete who plays quarterback at a high level.     [player_tooltip player_id='386222' first='Donovan' last='Rodriguez'] is one of the best two-way players in the state who recently committed to play at Buffalo. Rodriguez plays as a defensive back at a high level. He has great coverage skills and does a nice job of making plays on balls thrown his way. Then he does a good job of coming upfield and making tackles in the open field. He has also played some wide receiver and he does a nice job of catching the ball in space and making a play.
