Ravenwood (8-0) at Oakland (8-0)

- What a showdown we have here in Week Ten with two undefeated powerhouses that are both 6A championship contenders. The Raptors travel over to Oakland Friday evening for what should be an excellent atmosphere and a contest that should be exciting, due to the college talent spread all over the field. Both teams are well balanced with high scoring offenses and defensive units that are stout up front along with talented secondaries. The Patriots secondary with [player_tooltip player_id='1518156' first='Chase' last='Bandy'], [player_tooltip player_id='856867' first='Craig' last='Tutt'] and others versus the Raptors receiving corps of [player_tooltip player_id='219435' first='Ben' last='Hubbard'], [player_tooltip player_id='390640' first='Max' last='Kimpel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='820942' first='Donovan' last='Starr'] will be the battle to watch in what should be a hard fought, close game that isn't settled till late in the 4th quarter.

Alcoa (5-1) at Maryville (8-0)

- The annual battle between the Tornadoes and Rebels takes place here in Week Ten with the home team coming in as the favorite, which hasn't been the case in a few years. Maryville has been playing some outstanding football on both sides of the ball this season with a potent run game, led by [player_tooltip player_id='361227' first='Price' last='Davis'] and their O-line while the Rebels defense is one of the best in the state, spearheaded by [player_tooltip player_id='1137205' first='Matthew' last='Covert'] and their linebackers. The Tornadoes look a loss in Week One but have gotten better each week with an offense, led by [player_tooltip player_id='783053' first='Eli' last='Graf'] that has become very explosive along the way. The Rebels defense should be tested in this contest but whoever comes out on top, will add a big win to their resume and major confidence headed into postseason play.

CPA (8-0) at FRA (8-0)

- The region title is on the line here in this Mid-Tennessee matchup between two undefeated teams that have their eyes on the big prize of winning a state championship. The Lions and Panthers have been impressive throughout the 2024 season, nearly dominating each opponent they have faced but something must give in this matchup. The Lions play a consistent, physical brand of football that many teams can't figure out. The Panthers virtually play the same way. Both teams lean on their run game, led by [player_tooltip player_id='1335216' first='Rawls' last='Patterson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1106238' first='Michael' last='Hassell'] while both defenses are opportunistic with physical play up front. Many will have CPA as the favorite and that's justified but I like this FRA team and how they go about their business, so I'm expecting a hard fought game that goes to the final whistle.

Collierville (8-0) at Whitehaven (6-2)

- A massive opportunity sits in front of Whitehaven on Friday evening as they have a chance to win the region title with a defeat of Collierville but the job won't be easy. The Dragons come to town undefeated and playing confident football, so I don't expect them to overlook the Tigers. It will be a challenge for Whitehaven to gain success against a stellar Collierville defense but they may have the athletes to get it done. Finding big plays will be key for the Tigers but I think the play up front will be even more critical. They have to get a push against a solid Collierville O-line and find a way to get pressure on [player_tooltip player_id='1177637' first='Grant' last='Troutman']. Players like [player_tooltip player_id='1162375' first='Cory' last='House'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1297578' first='Tavarious' last='Elliott'] will play big roles in this matchup and if they and the Tigers defense can have success, the upset may take place.

Cookeville (7-1) at Green Hill (8-0)

- Can the Hawks keep their undefeated season going and set themselves up for a region title matchup in Week Eleven? We will see as the Hawks host a strong Cookeville team that won't be intimidated and will be ready to compete. The biggest challenge the Green Hill team has in this contest is slowing down the Cavs rushing attack, led by seniors [player_tooltip player_id='353388' first='Blake' last='Owen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1201020' first='Thomas' last='Johnson']. If those two are able to go-off, it could be a long night for the Hawks. The defensive front seven will need to play big for the Hawks as well as strong play offense from [player_tooltip player_id='964976' first='Kannon' last='Burroughs'], [player_tooltip player_id='1102958' first='Nick' last='Owens, Jr'] and others if they plan to come out on top. I honestly could see this game going into the favor of both Cookeville and Green Hill, so this should be a fun contest to keep track of on Friday evening.

Anderson Co. (6-1) at Gibbs (8-0)

- Many people within the East TN region foresaw the Mavericks being in the position they are headed into Week Ten but many did not have Gibbs here. The home Eagles host Anderson Co. on Friday night for the region title and why some may see the Mavs as the favorites in this matchup, I like Gibbs chances. For two years now, the Eagles senior class has won a lot of ball games and played consistent football each time they have stepped onto the field. This will not be an easy game for Anderson Co.. The Mavs will have the edge when it comes to overall talent but Gibbs plays excellent “team football” that has them undefeated. Time of possession and turnovers look to be key in this game and whoever wins those two battles, should come out on top as the victor.

East Robertson (7-1) at White House-Heritage (6-2)

- One of the better non-region, out of classification matchups in Week Ten is East Robertson traveling over to Heritage to face a hot Patriots team that has the firepower to defeat the Indians. Led by sophomore quarterback and Mr. Football candidate [player_tooltip player_id='317160' first='Xavier' last='Murray'], the Pats have one of the best high scoring offenses in the greater Mid-TN region that has been clicking on all cylinders throughout the past month. They arrive in this contest as a potential sleeper team to watch for in the 3A playoffs and that narrative can grow larger with a win over East Robertson. The Indians have had to make changes after losing their star running back but have handled things nicely, leaning on [player_tooltip player_id='1422904' first='Kason' last='Young'] and his dual threat abilities to get the job done. This should be a fun game to follow as I'm expecting a lot of points with the home team sitting in a good position to take the win.

- - -

Sevier Co. (8-0) at East Hamilton (6-2)

- Another non-region, non-classification game to follow Friday night is the undefeated Smoky Bears traveling down to Chattanooga to compete against an upstart Hurricanes team that has surprised many throughout the 2024 season. Both these have region titles in hand but a victory in this matchup would certainly build confidence going into postseason play and grow their stock further as potential title contenders. Sevier Co. brings one of the better offenses in the state to town, led by [player_tooltip player_id='1142902' first='Cooper' last='Newman'] and his senior laden offensive line. The Canes rely on the run game with [player_tooltip player_id='333373' first='Andrew' last='Gilbert'] and his offensive line paving the way for junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1432197' first='Jaden' last='Haywood']. Keeping the Smoky Bears offense on the sidelines will be key towards East Hamilton knocking Sevier Co. out of the undefeated ranks.

Haywood (6-2) at Crockett Co. (6-2)

- The Cavaliers have a great chance this Friday at putting themselves in play for a region title but they have to get past a talented Haywood team that presents a lot of challenges for the home team. Athleticism on both sides of the ball is strong with the Tomcats, so the Crockett Co. coaching staff must find a way to work around or past guys like [player_tooltip player_id='466233' first='Camarion' last='Miller'], [player_tooltip player_id='811046' first='Caden' last='Harris'], [player_tooltip player_id='1162582' first='Jaden' last='Butler'] and others to find a way to victory. Senior two-way product [player_tooltip player_id='829084' first='Deuce' last='Greenhill'] will be needed in a big way to contend with the Tomcats playmakers and make his mark in this game. Haywood does come into this contest as the favorite but the Cavs have a good team this year that have gone through some battles this season that should have them prepared for a big spotlight game like this.

Clarksville (8-0) at Rossview (7-1)

- The battle for a region title is up for grabs here between the undefeated Wildcats and their cross town rival Rossview. Both teams have been successful squads so far this year with both leaning on their rushing attacks and defenses to get the job done. The talent edge does go to Clarksville and they will be the favorite but the Hawks have home field on their side along with one of the better linebackers in the Mid-TN region leading the way in [player_tooltip player_id='656684' first='Kole' last='Phillips']. He will be tasked with slowing down a strong Clarksville run game, highlighted by the powerful duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1240402' first='James' last='Dalrymple'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1240386' first='Ahmoyre' last='Galbreath']. I do expect the road team to come out on top but if Phillips and the Hawks defense can get early stops and gain confidence, this might turn into a four quarter game.
