Early on, it was not a sure thing that Young would garner our player of the game award as others held a lead but the senior signal caller turned it on in the second half and earned this honor. The Indians quarterback ramped up his passing in the second period by throwing for two scores that put his team ahead while using his legs on occasions to produce positive gains. His leadership and toughness throughout the game also stood out as well. Young ended up being a big difference maker against the Cobras that was definitely needed to keep the Indians undefeated on the season. 

Young was named a semifinalist last year for Mr. Football and I expect him to be right back in the mix this Fall season. The Indians signal caller has a ton of experience and won a lot of ball games throughout his high school career and produced a lot of offensive yards. Young is a multi-talented, dual threat quarterback that will be asked to shoulder a bigger load this season and I think he can handle it. The offense is having to implement some new starters, so Young will be leaned upon heavily, especially early on as others adjust. You may see Young run the ball a little more this year as well but I still expect him to put up just near or more than 2,000 yards passing.

Leading his team to a 12-1 record and a region title, Young takes home our offensive player of the year after a stellar junior campaign that saw him produce over 3,000 yards of total offense. This Mid-Tennessee signal caller has done nothing but produce at a high level ever since he stepped onto the field for the Indians with his best season yet coming this Fall. Being a team leader behind center, Young generated a big junior year where he had 2,656 yards passing with 24 touchdowns while also adding 532 yards rushing and another 9 scores. Young will be back next year to lead another Indians team towards the 2A title while also competing for Mr. Football and potentially our class player of the year.
