LeBlanc is the kind of edge that makes an offensive line coach start reaching for the aspirin by the second quarter, because the dude brings real power from the ground up — lower-half pop, long disruptive arms, and that nasty habit of finding the football when he finally gets home. The best part is he’s not living off one move or one matchup; you can tell he’s put time into the craft, because he’ll threaten with speed, convert to power, work back inside, and keep stacking moves until the blocker’s balance is gone. And on a defense that already knows how to hunt quarterbacks, that refined toolbox matters — it means he doesn’t need the perfect look or the perfect down-and-distance to create pressure. He’s playing with urgency, he’s finishing plays, and when he gets to the QB it feels like there’s always a chance the ball is coming out. If you’re looking for “most likely to be a weekly problem next season,” he’s right at the top of that list.

Impressive prospect with a versatile skillset to effectively play the interior or edge positions. At 6’1” 220 lbs. he’s got a well-balanced frame with good growth potential to add weight without sacrificing his athleticism or mobility. Explosive first step off the ball with great initial quickness to gain early penetration and make plays at or behind the LOS. Plus lateral agility and short area speed to redirect and chase in the box and to the perimeter. Active hand usage with good placement to maintain separation and keep blockers away from his body. Attacking defender that plays with a high motor to rush the passer or pursue the ball carrier. Filled the stat sheet throughout the 2024 season finishing with 78 total tackles, 19 TFL, six sacks, and two forced fumbles while being selected First Team All CUSD and 6A Premier Region. Derrick LeBlanc Derrick LeBlanc 6'1" | 225 lbs | DL Hamilton | 2027 State AZ is already a real playmaker for Hamilton’s defense and he’s not even halfway through his high school football career yet. He has two games this season with multiple sacks and has racked up a total of six in seven games. Coming through the interior of the line, he has great but that proves to be too much for most offensive linemen to handle. Keeping his eyes locked on the ball, LeBlanc makes quick decisions and wastes no time attacking whoever has it. When he’s lined up against some size across from him, his strength really shows as he effortlessly drives back linemen who are bigger than him. As he continues to grow and develop, LeBlanc is a prospect coaches will want to keep a very close eye on.

2027 Defensive Lineman Derrick LeBlanc Derrick LeBlanc 6'1" | 225 lbs | DL Hamilton | 2027 State AZ could not have had a better game on the defensive line for the Huskies. Notching 3 sacks in his first varsity game is incredible. He was quick from the interior of the defensive line, bursting past the Centennial offensive line and playing in the backfield. The QB stood no chance as Leblanc showed excellent agility in the open field and finish on the quarterback to put together a stellar performance. It’s hard to think that this Hamilton defense could have so many star players, but they might have just found one more in Leblanc.
