2A-Region 5 Team MVP's

East Hickman: (TE/DE) [player_tooltip player_id='1310959' first='Nathan' last='Hobbs']

Harpeth: (LB/RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1102510' first='Karson' last='Mauk']

Hickman Co.: (WR/S) Devon Driggers

Lewis Co.: (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='362006' first='Brycen' last='McDonald']

Loretto: ‘26 (WR/DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1103005' first='Corben' last='Reynolds']

Mt. Pleasant: (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='611895' first='Jakyri' last='McClure']

Summertown: (QB/DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1142021' first='Jaden' last='Stoll']

Waverly Central: (TE/LB) Sawyer Porch

- One of the better defensive prospects from this region is Hobbs and he has a great opportunity in front of him to not only be his team's MVP but can also boost his college significantly with a big senior year. Harpeth has their leading tackler back in Mauk, who could lead this region and the entire 2A class in tackles. He is a sneaky good athlete that could earn his way into the college landscape. A two-way talent for Hickman Co., Driggers should be the most dynamic player on his Bulldogs squad this year and he will be needed for victories within a tough region. Starting since his sophomore season, McDonald is the top quarterback prospect on the 2A level with an opportunity to lead his Panthers team all the way to the championship game.

Loretto is transitioning into a new roster this year and looking for new starters. One top guy back from last year is Reynolds, who could be the most dynamic playmaker coming out of the 2A ranks this year. Primed for a big senior year, McClure is a powerful but athletic ball carrier that sits at the top of charts for Mr. Football candidates. His senior year will go a long way towards what his college future looks like. The Eagles could be a surprise team in this region with Stoll being possibly their top guy. He looks to handle the quarterback role this season with a lot of his damage coming by way of his legs. Waverly could be taking a step back this Fall as they work in new starters. Porch is one guy who can be that veteran leader on both sides of the ball and work towards putting the Tigers back in postseason play.

2A-Region 6 Team MVP's

Adamsville: (LB) [player_tooltip player_id='560460' first='Avery' last='McCormick']

Camden Central: (WR/DB) [player_tooltip player_id='480800' first='Isaac' last='Moore']

Gibson Co.: (WR/DE/LB) Isaiah DeBerry

Huntingdon: (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='222306' first='Gray' last='Eubanks']

Jackson Central-Merry: (DL) [player_tooltip player_id='1310949' first='Daveon' last='Johnson']

Milan: (DL) Markel Cunningham

Peabody: (S/WR) Jaquan Kinney

Riverside: (TE/LB) [player_tooltip player_id='390711' first='Austin' last='Kelley']

- Adamsville has a chance to do some special things this Fall and if they do so, McCormick will be a big reason why. Currently committed to Air Force, McCormick is an athletic and active linebacker that could lead this entire classification in tackles. Moore is a hidden gem that can run but also provides big play abilities on both sides of the ball for Camden. Gibson Co. could have some struggles this year playing within a hard region, so DeBerry will need to be a consistent force for them each week to find wins. A top contender for Mr. Football this season, Eubanks is a high level performer that does nothing but produce game in and game out. Huntingdon has a shot at the region title and a big reason why is Eubanks.

Even though he comes out of the JC-Merry program, Johnson could be the best D-line prospect coming out of this region. It will be interesting to see if Johnson can top 10 plus sacks this coming Fall. Much of the same can be said for Cunningham. The Bulldogs senior D-lineman is versatile being that he can take snaps on both the end and the middle. Making the move from Lake Co. to Peabody, Kinney is a hidden gem that could play his way into a college scholarship this Fall. Standing 6'1 190 plus pounds, Kinney brings the size and skill set to the field that translates to the college game. Our pre-season region MVP, Kelley is a talented young man with athleticism and size that could develop well on the next level.

2A-Region 7 MVP's

KIPP Collegiate: ‘26 (QB) Kevin Miller

MLK Prep: (Ath) Tyreik Miller

Memp. Business Academy: N/a

Trezevant: (DB/WR) Cameron Ivey

- This is a tough region to predict or research as there is tons of information missing from all of these programs. It was difficult to choose the team MVP for all four teams as each squad has non-updated rosters or is lacking general team info. MLK Prep appears to be the top team coming out of this region while also sporting possibly the top player in Miller. Coming in right behind Prep in 2nd place, Trezevant has a talented two-way prospect in Ivey, who can become a game changer for them this Fall.

2A-Region 8 MVP's

Bluff City: ‘27 (Ath) Malik Dean

Fairley: (WR/S) [player_tooltip player_id='219370' first='Zyress' last='Short']

Hillcrest: N/a

Mitchell: (DE) [player_tooltip player_id='1293394' first='Kenderrius' last='Robertson']

Oakhaven: (DL) [player_tooltip player_id='839500' first='Jayvion' last='Burrow']

- Region eight looks to be in the hands of Mitchell this year with a chance to run away with it before we reach the halfway point of the season. The Tigers have stout defense, led by potential region MVP in Robertson. He led the state in sacks last year and it's not out of sight for him to do so again and even increase his production. One of the more explosive prospects coming out of the 2A ranks this year is Short. The Bulldogs senior two-way product can turn his college future around with a monster senior year that potentially leads Fairley into the playoffs.
