Sporting great size and length along with a frame that will grow, McCormick went into this summer camp season as an under the radar talent that took his stock to another and while the offers haven’t arrived yet, this West Tennessee product proved to me that he is worthy. Coming from a small part of Tennessee, McCormick has to stand out at every stop from camps to games and he excelled this summer, showing off his ability to chase the ball down with good speed and range as well as drop to play in space. The Cardinals junior linebacker is still learning and growing into his body but the potential is definitely there to watch his stock soar this Fall season.

is an athletic and instinctive linebacker out of Adamsville High School. In coverage, he shows good zone awareness underneath and has the ball skills with his wide receiver experience. McCormick is very good in space but also excels beating blocks with physicality and hand usage. Good at setting the edge, he can be a force defender with good technique and understanding of leverage. McCormick brings very good closing speed when blitzing and range in pursuit. He shows good screen awareness and overall is a discipline football player in all areas.

Coming from a small town and a Class 2A program, McCormick has to fight uphill a bit to make a name for himself but trust me, he won’t have to try too hard because the physical tools and upside are there to become a top prospect from his linebacker position. Tall and long with a great frame for added weight, McCormick has a versatile skill set that allows him to work the edge or slide inside. He is a fluid mover that shows explosive flashes on film as well as the ability to drop and play in coverage. The Cardinals rising junior shows potential as a possible pass rusher on the edge due to his height, length and explosive first step. Plenty of tools are there to become a highly recruited prospect and I think a dominating junior season on the field could help propel his stock much further.
