It was a tough call for our defensive MVP but I had to go with Robertson as the Tigers lineman had another highly productive season where he spent most of his time in the opposition’s backfield. For his senior campaign, Robertson produced 100 total tackles on the year along with 27 tackles for loss and a staggering 28 sacks. Over the last two seasons at Mitchell, the Tigers edge rusher had produced a total of 60 sacks and led the state both years in this category. No matter what Robertson does going forward, he will go down as one of the best pass rushers of all-time here in the Volunteer State.

Robertson has been a steady force off the edge for his Tigers team over the past two years and will be needed in a big way starting this Friday in the First Round of the TN High School football playoffs. This senior edge defender is a constant disruptor with a nose for the oppositions backfield that has shown improvement this year with playing in space. Robertson can be a game wrecker and might be a difference maker during this postseason that could help his Tigers win and advance then possibly earn their way into the 2A title game.
