McKinnon is a high upside TE with all the tools to be a D1 prospect. 6’4” 200 lbs. he’s got an ideal frame that combines his length, athleticism, and growth potential. Flashes natural movement skills and bend as a route runner that can find the soft spot in coverage at the short/intermediate levels, work the middle in traffic, or push vertically up the field. He’s a reliable target with strong and confident hands at the catch point. His catch radius extends past his big frame and he attacks the ball in the air to maintain separation from his body. A threat after the catch blending his speed and strength to extend gains. Aggressive blocker that can latch on to sustain in space and finish with power at the POA. Watch him climb the rankings and D1 recruiting boards as he gains exposure. Ranked #35 overall and the #3 TE.
McKinnon is an up and coming TE that shows a blend of physical tools, versatility, and playmaking ability to be a quality recruit as he develops. 6’4” 200 lbs. he possesses a projectable frame with ideal length and growth potential. Shows good athleticism and the ability to move easily in space. Carries the speed to create mismatches, stretch the field vertically, and extend gains after the catch. Flashes strong hands at the catch point with a large catch radius and the ability to track/adjust with the ball in the air. Does a good job extending to play the ball in traffic and keep it from getting into his body. Operated mainly split out wide as a sophomore but competes as a blocker in the run game. Shows he can line up a defender in space, latch on, and sustain throughout the play. A lot to like and checks a lot of boxes that colleges look for in a future TE prospect.
