2028 Rankings Newcomers: Offense

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">New talent continues to emerge across the state in the 2028 class. In this rankings spotlight, we take a deep dive into the offensive prospects that are making their debut in the PRZ state player rankings. </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Zarate had a breakout sophomore year taking 150 carries for 959 yards and 9 touchdowns while splitting carries. 5'9” 180 lbs. he's quick to get north/south showing sustained speed through the second and third levels of the defense. Long speed allows him to pull away from pursuit once he finds open space. Flashes sudden change of direction cutting sharply without losing momentum to make defenders miss in tight areas. With quick feet, strong balance, and burst out of his cuts he is a dynamic playmaker capable of creating big gains on any given touch. Shows good field vision and ball carrier instincts to work off his blocking angles and locate open running lanes. Plus balance as a runner and through contact, he's able to cut through traffic while running behind his pads and maintaining leg drive to slip tacklers. Flashes good all around game speed with quick acceleration in the short area and the long speed to cap off extended runs in the end zone. The game comes easy to him at both positions measuring 6'0” 200 lbs. with a well-built frame to match his natural athleticism. Demonstrates good timing as a passer throwing a catchable ball to all three levels. Makes quick decisive reads in the passing game and on read options. He's a powerful ball carrier that breaks contact and can weave through the defense with vision. Threw for 900 yards and 6 touchdowns and ran for 1,125 yards and 13 touchdowns as a sophomore. Skillset could transition well to either side of the ball at the college level. He's a savvy athlete that runs well and has plus ball skills. Speed allows him to cover all areas of the field confidently and be a vertical threat in the passing game. At CB, he times his transition well to stay over the top vertically but can also plant and drive working downhill on short/intermediate routes. Good ability to close separation and recover with the ball in the air when beat. At WR, he's able to slip by coverage with subtle tempo changes and acceleration out of the break. On both sides, he easily tracks and adjusts to mid air ball flight while competing for it at the high point. Quality all around skillset that will be an impact player over the next several years. Flashes natural movement skills and bend as a route runner that can find the soft spot in coverage at the short/intermediate levels, work the middle in traffic, or push vertically up the field. He's a reliable target with strong and confident hands at the catch point. His catch radius extends past his big frame and he attacks the ball in the air to maintain separation from his body. A threat after the catch blending his speed and strength to extend gains. Aggressive blocker that can latch on to sustain in space and finish with power at the POA. Watch him climb the rankings and D1 recruiting boards as he gains exposure. He presses the LOS quickly with hard burst through the first level and flashes the lateral agility to be elusive in tight spaces. Demonstrates excellent contact balance and toughness between the tackles running hard with good pad level and leverage. Shows he can absorb hits, break arm tackles, and consistently generate extra yards after contact. His movement is quick and instinctual being able to read defensive flow and locate cut back lanes to work to space. Picked up his initial college offer from Northern Arizona and will see his recruiting stock continue to climb as he showcases his skillset.
