Lopez was a three phase playmaker for O’Connor as a sophomore at WR, DB, and KR. He’s a savvy athlete that runs well and has plus ball skills. Speed allows him to cover all areas of the field confidently and be a vertical threat in the passing game. At CB, he times his transition well to stay over the top vertically but can also plant and drive working downhill on short/intermediate routes. Good ability to close separation and recover with the ball in the air when beat. At WR, he’s able to slip by coverage with subtle tempo changes and acceleration out of the break. On both sides, he easily tracks and adjusts to mid air ball flight while competing for it at the high point. Quality all around skillset that will be an impact player over the next several years. Ranked #60 overall and the #8 two-way athlete.
