In the month of June, we’re updating all of our prospect rankings on Prep Redzone Oklahoma. We’ve seen a ton of football this offseason from the 7v7 circuit to camps to most recently with team camps. We kicked off our month of ranking updates last week with a look at the 2027 class as they head into their sophomore seasons this fall. Last week, it was time to look at the 2026 class. On Monday, our 2025 rankings were updated to include the Top 200 players in the upcoming senior class. You can check out the updated rankings right here. In this post, we’re putting the spotlight on five prospects who are listed as “athletes” under the position because they play multiple positions and can do a lot of things at a very high level. Check out Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more ranking updates, along with all of our 2025 prospect breakdowns later this week!
North Rock Creek standout Caleb Hawkins Caleb Hawkins 6'2" | 205 lbs | ATH North Rock Creek | 2025 State OK recently earned his first D1 offer and it will hopefully start some momentum going into the fall. Hawkins has been one of the best athletes in this class for two seasons now. All you have to do is look at the production he’s had in all three phases of the game and you see one of the better playmakers in the state. Hawkins has stood out to us at multiple camps that we’ve run in the offseason. He had his breakout moment during his sophomore season and the ceiling is incredibly high with him moving forward. He’s another guy where it doesn’t matter what position you slot him into, he’s going to make the most of it.

We’ve written about Union’s Boston Carrasco Boston Carrasco 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Union | 2025 State OK a few times this offseason but in case you missed it, we think this is going to be a massive year for him. Carrasco got plenty of touches last season but this year, he could be the top playmaker in the passing game and he has so much speed and versatility that he’ll be able to produce in other spots. He’s not the biggest prospect on this breakdown but he’s probably the fastest. He had an outstanding track season and when you watch the film, it doesn’t take very long to realize he’s routinely one of the fastest players on the football field. This could be a monster season for Carrasco, specifically on offense and special teams.

Choctaw standout JuJu Smith JuJu Smith 5'8" | ATH Choctaw | 2025 State OK is a 2025 prospect that we’ve seen in person probably more than any other media outlet in Oklahoma. We’ve seen three offseasons of him playing on the 7v7 circuit, games in the fall with Choctaw and in the spring at team camps. And every time we’ve seen him, he’s routinely one of the best players on the field and it doesn’t matter which side of the ball you’re talking about. Smith is a player that can play at the next level and the only question is what position. For now, we have Smith listed as an athlete but we could see him shifting to the offensive side of the ball. Last season was a great example of the impact he can have on offense.
Out of the five athletes on this breakdown, you could categorize Prague’s Jaxon Smith Jaxon Smith 6'7" | 240 lbs | ATH Prague | 2025 State OK as a “jumbo athlete” because of his versatility along the line of scrimmage. On offense, he’s a tight end but with his frame and growth over the last 12 months, it’s not a stretch to see him on the offensive line at some point. On defense, he’s a nightmare coming off the edge as a defensive end. And that growth that we mentioned has been Smith basically living in the weight room. He’s added 15-20 pounds since the end of last season and he’s continuing to turn himself into a prospect that college coaches need to know about. He committed to Illinois State earlier this year.

Our final prospect on this breakdown was one of the best players in the state last season. Brayson Carter Brayson Carter 5'9" | 165 lbs | ATH Blanchard | 2025 State OK helped lead Blanchard to a state championship and he impacted the game on offense, defense and special teams. He was the true definition of the “athlete” tag as it didn’t matter what position Carter was playing, he was at the top of his game at all times. So when it comes to Carter as a prospect, we don’t know what the right fit is. We’ve seen him completely change a game in all three phases so we could be talked into several different positions. But the one constant we know when it comes to him is that he belongs at the next level and that’s obvious after last year.
